Augmented Reality (AR) domains

Last night I ignored the urge to register SpaceShipThree.com , and today the .com .net .org and .whatnot is all taken.

Today I decided to redeem myself and find another good dn investment. After a bit of investigation I discovered the huge potential of Augmented Reality: Google Trends: augmented reality . The estimated AR market size in 2014 is $732,000,000 , especially in AR marketing.

I think adverts and billboards shown as augmented reality on mobiles will become simply huge, and so I decided to get a piece of the pie, all new .com registrations:

ar+
advert
adverts
billboard
billboards
registrar

There are still a lot of possibilities available, so I thought I'd share this so you can also get a piece of the action :santa:

Guys, just pay attention the patent is from 2015.

patent issued August 29, 2017 (but originally filed in 2015)

Still very interesting imo considering Augmented Reality was out way before 2015! They have chosen to call them Virtual Reality Glasses

That statement from Google Vice President of AR and VR about the web being KEY to AR is super important to the *potential* value of AR domains. It means that they are not intending on making AR an app based technology, at least in the long run.

Google launching an AR browser.

I'm going to repost that AGAIN incase anyone was considering dropping their AR domains lol

AR Experiments: Explorations in Augmented Reality

AR Experiments is a site that features work by coders who are experimenting with augmented reality in exciting ways. These experiments use various tools like ARCore, an Android SDK that makes it easier to create new AR experiences. We’re featuring our favorite projects to help inspire more coders to imagine what could be made with AR. Check it out at https://g.co/arexperiments

A casino in AR will not mean the same thing as a casino in it's sister technology where you will be walking in a virtual simulation of a casino.

Currently, an online casino simply means a website that has a menu of games you can play. AR casinos will likely be similar in that the site may have a menu in AR that you can select AR games you can play that are virtualized inside of your real life space so that you can still multitask, interact and observe the real world while you play. No simulation of walking around inside of a full blown casino. That's what a AR casino will likely be.

I'm not 100% sure, but I registered all my AR gambling domains with this in mind anyway. You can't think of AR domains in the same way that you think of its sister technology or you may not see the potential for AR domaining.

Interesting

MAGIC LEAP PATENT DRAWINGS REVEAL WHAT MIGHT BE ITS MYSTERIOUS AR GLASSES

Interestingly, in the main description on the patent, the glasses are referred to as "virtual reality glasses" rather than augmented reality glasses.

I was wondering who regged that. That is a very beautiful domain. Congrats!

But wait, do you mean "my webvr - com" or did you mean you registered "mywebvr - com"?

If you go to Namebio you'll see that most of the top 50 "my" keyword sales have been my + product or service. Web technology alone without an additional keyword to make it a product or service is a hard keyword to sell if you just throw "my" in front of it, unless the technology is also a service like MyCloud.com, but WebAR is just a technology. All of the "my online" domain sales for example are accompanied by an additional, defining keyword.

This video is entertainment. As exaggerated as it is, it could some ideas about what AR could look like when glasses are on the market, who knows. And they won't be calling it "hyper" anything lol... They'll be calling it what it's most commonly called today - Augmented Reality.

AR is slowly taking the spotlight again, but just to be fair, she has a point (see attachment) . Today is a time when we will start to see a broader use of AR not just in gaming (there weren't any gambling games) but also non-gaming use cases that we've never had before. Still a good point though. People compared VR to the failure of the Nintendo WiFi, but that didn't stop it from growing to become a multi billion dollar business.

It's exciting to watch all this, that is for sure.....
and you have some really nice ones, @Winfluence
For us, it's good Google is pushing AR in the browser, and we all know app fatigue, don't we.
I love a site whose mobile version is so good you don't need any app.

BTW, do you guys think that something like ARstro makes any sense? The AR'ing of words? or is that a silly thing to do? nice ones too, @Constantin S ...

You guys may not think my gambling UK domains sound very sexy because they're co.uk, but there is a billion pound gambling industry there that would be nuts not to see opportunity in my ARGambling - co.UK, ARCasinos - co.uk CasinoAR - co.uk, etc.

If online casinos in the UK are only allowed to use their own CC extension (like some countries require) that doesn't leave them with a whole lot of options.

Anyone here in the UK with knowledge about that?

Pretty sure UK casino's are not tied to Co.Uk extensions because magicalvegas dot com is a UK company.

I see nothing wrong in getting Co.UK names though because lots of UK companies do infact choose the extension over the dot com

Yeah I've also noticed that, especially with German companies only choosing de.

Thanks for the info by the way.
