When it comes to hosting you may know that having domain and hosting with different companies / providers instead of having them with the same provider has some advantages and reduces risks.

The same way, Any disadvantage or risk if the registrar & marketplace are the same? (I am sure there are lot advantages)

Ever faced any issues?

I thought that this was an advantage, as the registrar could hold the name whilst payment was cleared. This removes the need for escrow, However, right now I'm having major problems with Name Silo following the sale of a name for $4,000. It's made more difficult by their refusal to provide details of an alleged payment made about a month ago. Without those details, I am not able to get my bank to check of the payment. I'm now having to consider moving my names away from a registrar that has provided a good cost effective service for several years. Obviously this will require a substantial payment, as I have a few hundred names with them. It also means I have to research other registrars to find one that is as good as Name Silo used to be.

Maybe an alternative question is whether you should have all your names with one registrar.

I have not tried NameSilo yet.

@Unstoppable Domains giving huge discounts on domain transfers. You can try them if you haven't yet.

Thanks for reminding me about Unstoppable Domains. I joined them about 5 years ago, as they had an interesting concept which I didn't really understand. "for sale by owner" and Bitcoin are interesting options for me. I'll check my renewals, and move a few names over to them as an experiment.

I didn't have any bids in the Name Silo market place. My sale came from a direct email with a $4grand offer that was routed through a registrar enquiry. I decided to run it through their market place to simplify the sale. I though the name was worth more as it was one of my 3x2s, but I wanted a no stress sale. Well that was a mistake, it's resulted in a month of useless email chat often via a stupid AI bot which kept asking how it could help me, and not doing anything.

I'll look at porkbun for some of my lesser names, thanks for suggesting that.

The marketplace can take the domain you won back at any time, even years later, e.g., if someone claims the domain was sold without their permission.
