I just got a call from "Tyler" at GoDaddy but I wasn't there to answer. He left and a number and wants me to call back. Anyone ever get a call from GoDaddy before?

Yea that's what I'm worried about. I can't see anything wrong from logging into my account online...

okay- I called back

I called back and the guy who answered, Marco, couldn't connect me to "Tyler" but he looked at my account and said he probably just wanted to thank me for using GoDaddy and purchasing some domains, some "warm and fuzzy stuff you know." Haha. Okay, thanks for all your input!

I received a call from my GoDaddy account rep. last year. He was calling because I wasn't using him to register new domains and to renew the domains I already had with them. As a holder of hundreds of domains with GoDaddy, I was entitled to a discount for every new order I make and for domain renewals. You see, my domains were all setup to auto-renew every year, so I was missing out on the discounts. With hundreds of domain names in my account, those missed discounts added up to some serious cash! My account rep told me to set all my domains to manually renew, then email him every time I wanted to renew one or a bunch of names; using him to renew would get me a significant discount. Needless to say, I don't use auto-renew with GoDaddy anymore.

Thanks for the advice AMCY. I have about 45 domains with them, so I don't think I quite qualify, but if I get more I'll be sure to take your advice.

Well, I don't know what the threshold is with them, but maybe this "Tyler" person is the account rep assigned to you, so you may be entitled to a discount with your current domain count with GD. Can't hurt to ask :tu:

I got a call from them. I also had a few hundred names with them. I bought a WWD reseller acct and when names came up for renewal I was just transferring them to my WWD account. They called to see why I was transferring all of my names away. They relaxed a bit when they found out it was to an account that they still get a cut from.
I appreciated that they appreciated my business enough to call me to see what was happening.
On the other hand I have transfered over a hundred names from RegFly in the last few months and they couldn't care less.....not even an email asking why....
