Has anyone else ever had a call from Icann?

Just received a call from a gentleman claiming to be from ICANN to check if I was who I said I was on the WHOIS

He explained that a random selection are chosen and checked.

I added no further info to that available on WHOIS

Scam? Or do ICANN genuinely call people to confirm details?

My mind wasn't exactly full of fear that I'd been scammed, but it did leave me feeling a little 'random'.

My wife always said I should be studied more closely!

The tests in my article above have not started yet. But I do know they are running a whois accuracy study right now, so that may be it.

I don't see any harm in confirming your details that are already out there. Just don't give out any new information, such as passwords.
