Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Where can we get appraisals for all of our domains (>350 in my case) so we can avoid this?

They are listed inside Afternic once you click on ea name you'll see your appraisal.

You can also of course search for your name in GD's reg path to see it

Wow, OK, thats gonna take a while!

@Afternic would you consider making this appraisal figure a column in the export, many others already do this.

No no my friend :xf.smile:. Please don't ask them to do that :xf.smile:. Let them just remove all these appraisals and that's it.
Otherwise, everything that was written on the previous page will not give any results in the end.

Last months everything is very fast with BIN pricing sales, some have payout same day, some next day, big improvement.
Time though to correct the payout transmitals to include the organisation if applicable and not the personal details. TAX is is correctly there at transmital but not organisation

I already posted proof that a domain with BIN & Make Offer, both of which are higher than your estimated value, displays the make offer only in reg path searches plus the estimated value. So double whammy for the seller.

As I said, I will no longer help you troubleshoot your own failures to fix the logic. Use ...GoDaddy Airo.

Next glitch:

Even after deleting a domain from one's account, your system sends automated follow-up emails to long dead inquiries. This is akin to division by zero.
Donโ€™t delete your names, someone else will list them. Just mark them not for sale
Daddyโ€™s verification process is a simple submit button.

Had a payment sent to me via wire transfer yesterday; however later I realized that my payout info has changed: the recipient bank is the same but the intermediary bank they use is different now. I have updated the method but of course it is too late for the payment already sent out.

Whom do I need to contact to fix the error? I presume the payment might get stuck in the "wrong" intermediary bank and needs to be requested back by Godaddy.

Do not know how many here agree with it, but i think should be back the option for more than one
payment accounts for sales.

It is very convenient to have at least 2, one for paypal for small sales and one for bank wire.

At an old account we have for our other company had the option for 2 payment accounts.

At new only 1 allowed, it is a mess to edit every time (even same payee name) from paypal to bank wire and vice versa.

Programmatically obviously is very easy.

Don't worry, even then all my domains are still at DAN.com. I cannot delete them myself.

In fact, a handful of domains that I didn't renew were deleted by DAN that notified me.

This is how bad things work at GoDaddy: An active marketplace, Afternic, is full of glitches, while a dead marketplace, DAN.com, does it job right months after it closed down. :wacky:

Ok i am letting here my 2 notices and requests for @GoDaddy regarding afternic.

As i wrote system for payments is very improved and thank you for that.

The notices

1) At payout transmitals TAX id is correctly added however organisation (company) even if there is at settings does not appear. Only personal details and Tax ID of organisation.

2) It is very convenient to have at least 2 payee accounts, one for paypal for small sales and one for bank wire.

For new accounts only 1 allowed, it is a mess to edit every time (for same payee name) from paypal to bank wire and vice versa.

My initial reaction is GD is not going to allow (i.e., facilitate) this.

The issue would seem to be between you and your bank, not between you and GoDaddy.

The one thing I really dislike when dealing with GoDaddy/Afternic is that when you do accept an offer from a buyer, it can take a looooooong time for the broker to finally see that message and advise the buyer that the deal is done and requests payment.

Even with brokers, there should be an automated "Accept Offer" button with every buyer offer.

Hi,
Bank has nothing to do with it
When under $1k sale we use paypal for payments, if higher everytime i am going to payment details
deleting paypal and adding bank details, could avoid it with 2 payment accounts and just change which is default for current sale.

On that note, the main issue with the GoDaddy/Afternic brokerage system is that "everything is a text message" and there are no categories or priorities assigned to different actions.

Some guy asking why his negotiation was stalled on a $50 offer is given the same relative importance as someone having serious issues with an active transaction concerning a $250K .ai domain sale. That's not the way businesses are supposed to operate, but that's the way the Afternic backend works, or doesn't work.

Something needs to be done to allow sellers to "activate" certain key processes (like "Accept Offer") the same way they do "Transfer Domain". You click a button and something automatically happens, rather than just sending a text message to a broker and then waiting days for something to happen.

So self brokered leads are working, got my first sale/paid, went smooth. All my domains are priced. After watching some video/podcast one of the guys said he'll put a big number on the domain and also add the make offer option. So, I have Buy Now/Lease To Own/Make Offer on less than 5% of my names, the rest are Buy Now/Lease.

personally I do not call a system where u are literally forced and baited into buying club membership at a ridiculous 250us or so .. just to be able to use something as basic as self brokering.

they make money either way. they should pay domainers just for listing names with them and offering then potential of making sales and profit.

how about gd pay u and me 250us a year for listing my names on their site. self brokered or otherwise.

this is insane to require people to join club to self broker. nobody who wants a good cheerful reputation from domainer population does this. except we all know gd cares not for a cheerful reputation. but for maximal profit.

I was already paying for the club before this.
