We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

So self brokered leads are working, got my first sale/paid, went smooth. All my domains are priced. After watching some video/podcast one of the guys said he'll put a big number on the domain and also add the make offer option. So, I have Buy Now/Lease To Own/Make Offer on less than 5% of my names, the rest are Buy Now/Lease.

Thanks for that info -- did that guy happen to indicate the "Make Offer" calculation? Is it a flat "x" dollars, or a precentage of the Buy-it-Now price? Example, BIN set to $25K, does he force a minimum "Make Offer" amount (like $10K, or $2K, or whatever...)?

He didn’t mention that. Mine was 1/3 the Buy Now price. But I tripled the price of my original amount, so it sold for what I wanted from the start, which I set as the minimum. Something I’m playing around with on a small percentage of my domains

@Afternic would you consider making this appraisal figure a column in the export, many others already do this.

If you're a member of Domain Pro, you'll have access to GoDaddy's Bulk Appraisal tool, where you can check up to 150 domains/day.

Last months everything is very fast with BIN pricing sales, some have payout same day, some next day, big improvement.
Time though to correct the payout transmitals to include the organisation if applicable and not the personal details. TAX is is correctly there at transmital but not organisation

That's great to hear, @dr manos! Glad you're noticing the improvements. Can you DM us? We'd like to check on the organization visibility on the transmittals.

Had a payment sent to me via wire transfer yesterday; however later I realized that my payout info has changed: the recipient bank is the same but the intermediary bank they use is different now. I have updated the method but of course it is too late for the payment already sent out.

Whom do I need to contact to fix the error? I presume the payment might get stuck in the "wrong" intermediary bank and needs to be requested back by Godaddy.

Ok i am letting here my 2 notices and requests for @GoDaddy regarding afternic.

As i wrote system for payments is very improved and thank you for that.

The notices

1) At payout transmitals TAX id is correctly added however organisation (company) even if there is at settings does not appear. Only personal details and Tax ID of organisation.


2) It is very convenient to have at least 2 payee accounts, one for paypal for small sales and one for bank wire.

At an old account we have for our other company had the option for 2 payment accounts.

For new accounts only 1 allowed, it is a mess to edit every time (for same payee name) from paypal to bank wire and vice versa.

Programmatically obviously is very easy.

Following on from your previous message - let's also chat about #2 via DM. We've shared your feedback with our product team, but let's see what we can do for you in the meantime.

The one thing I really dislike when dealing with GoDaddy/Afternic is that when you do accept an offer from a buyer, it can take a looooooong time for the broker to finally see that message and advise the buyer that the deal is done and requests payment.

Even with brokers, there should be an automated "Accept Offer" button with every buyer offer.

Do you have a specific example domain you can share with us through DM?

This all depends on the seller's preferences, but many sellers do use 70% of your Buy it Now price as a Floor Price, with 50% as the Minimum Offer value. Here's a quick video on adjusting these values within minutes:

Thank you, although it solved on its own. The wire bounced back then was resend. But sadly the second time the sum was about $108 less...

After logging out of the account i tried to click to go back and see if it takes to my account or a login page and i was shocked to see that it took me to the exact last page i was on in my account. I have to go back to every page i was on and refresh it to logme out. Kindly fix this @Afternic

Is this a test or full rollout? And what is the min # you show? Would you show 1 or 2? Or does it need to be above a certain threshhold?

Love the idea btw! (assuming it meets a threshold level)

Thanks, @NameGroove - glad you like it! This is an active experiment, so you’ll see it in some search sessions. We’re testing it as a social-proof signal to support conversion, and we’re also exploring domain-management applications for the data (example).

During the test, minimums vary by cohort. We suppress very small numbers - you won’t see “1 search," for example. As we think about a broader release, we expect to favor a double-digit search threshold.

For the past two days, the number of my active listings on Afternic has been going down on its own. I haven’t removed or changed anything, but I can see domains disappearing from my portfolio. I’m not sure why this is happening and would like to understand the reason behind it. @GoDaddy

I can think of 2 reasons. You had domains that have expired and someone else registered them , used their verification code and they left your account. Or, sometimes afternic will just delete your domain if they think it is a violation / trademark. And they won't alert you to that.

hmm interesting. will have to check all of domains to see which are missing. I did drop a few domains in the past few weeks but I deleted them from the account as well. Maybe I missed a few.

@GoDaddy Could you confirm whether Namecheap is still an active Afternic partner?

Afternic's partner list still includes them, but if that's no longer accurate, it should be updated.

If Namecheap is no longer participating, please also remove them from pages like:

- The Afternic homepage - https://www.afternic.com/
- The Fast Transfer page - https://www.afternic.com/fast-transfer
- The Sell Domains page - https://www.afternic.com/sell-domains

These pages also reference the "85 million monthly search queries" figure, which may need review if partner participation has changed considerably. After all, following GoDaddy, Namecheap remains one of the largest domain registrars worldwide.

Thanks. Namecheap says that won't be for long, so enjoy it while you can. My domains are already listed on Spaceship's SellerHub, ensuring they will remain visible in Namecheap's registration path in the future. Because SellerHub listings override Afternic listings, any external listings don't show for these domains. Here are more details on Namecheap's decision to drop Afternic entirely:
