Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

My domain was sold on April 13, 2025, but as of April 26, 2025, the domain transfer has not been completed, despite this being a process that typically takes no more than a day. Despite my repeated messages, I have received only one response stating that the domain is locked. I have clarified multiple times that my domain is unlocked, and I have already approved the transfer from my end. However, no progress has been made, and neither my messages on chat nor my inquiries are being responded to. Please advise on the status and take immediate action to complete the transfer.
Hi @DomainFQ.com,
We're sorry to hear this experience, let's get it resolved. DM sent.

I don't see any number. Geo-dependent (I'm in EU) or A/B testing?

edit: now the number started appearing, but not every time (A/B?)
Hi @Jannes,
Yes, as with the first iteration of the phone number test on the Custom Lander, this is a 50/50 A/B test.

@GoDaddy
For our Sold names:
1- In our sales dashboard - can you add what lander was used?
2- Also is there any other info you can add such as how buyer purchased (e.g., GoDaddy reg path, FT partner reg path, etc?)
Hi @NameGroove,
Thanks for the feedback. Regarding your second point, account-managed customers can obtain this information from their reps. AbdulBasit, for instance, shared this regularly in his monthly sales breakdowns. We'll pass this feedback along to the Product team to explore whether this could be implemented at scale in the future.

And.... it's gone.

Afternic and GoDaddy had a strong presence at Nordic Domain Days this year (April 27 - 29, 2025), and it was exciting to chat with our sellers live. Here's a recap of the event from DNJournal.

"The Breakfast Club" hosted a live edition of its podcast on Monday afternoon, featuring Braden, Alan, and Giuseppe discussing a wide array of topics, including analyzing some Afternic charts.

This one, for example, shows the popularity of the "ai" keyword in domain sales at Afternic, from January 2024 to February 2025.

How do I become "account-managed"?

Afternic login not working. Yikes!

Need to use GoDaddy โ€œsingleโ€ sign on which requires 2FA for both GoDaddy and Afternic, making it more like a double sign on ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Mine worked after refreshing page .Try incognito tab also .

They need to employ one of the geeks from DOGE to make that marketplace work .

The largest domain and hosting company in the world should be able to figure out a login form without me doing black magic to get in.

You'd think so, wouldn't you?

Some funky stuff is going on.

Just noticed one domain vanish from Afternic, tried some others, another one gone. One is on hold for some reason.

breakdancer. com gone
comedytube. com gone

those go to pages that look like:

breakdancer.com

This domain is registered, but may still be available.

---------- .com on hold

These are all still in my GoDaddy account, nameservers all correct.

Is there someway to mass check things like this, instead of trying each one out. Then, why is this happening?

This is still not resolved. The domain expired 4 days ago now.

Brad
It's still not resolved.

I will just renew the domain manually, and be done buying domains on GoDaddy for the immediate future.

It's not worth the hassle.

What hasn't been resolved in almost 10 days took me 10 seconds to resolve.

@GoDaddy still needs to figure out why the renewal was not added, and an expired domain was essentially delivered. The issue happened again, after this order.

In that case though, the expiration was already a ways out.

@GoDaddy can you send a notification when you remove a domain from an Afternic account?

This is what I was eventually told.

"Aftermarket domain names purchased via GoDaddy search are purchased through the auctions cart process. If a domain name is already at GoDaddy, the TA team performs an account push. In account push scenarios, registration years aren't added."

This is news to me as every other domain purchased before this had the renewal added.

So, I guess be careful if you are buying domains there.

In this case, I would have just lost the domain if I was not paying attention. It was delivered expiring the next day, with auto-renew turned off.

Have you noticed this apparent change on your invoice, assuming renewal was listed separately in the past?

This was purchased by searching for the domain, adding it to my cart, and checking out at GoDaddy.

Under "Order History" the transaction is listed as "Auctions Domain Purchase".

Looking at all the other orders in that section, renewals were added before this date.

It's hard to believe that every single one of around 30 others started outside GoDaddy.

Regardless, there should not be a situation where they deliver a domain expiring the next day and auto-renew is set to off.

I go through renewals once a month. This could have easily been lost.

Then they should have a minimum of at least 60 days remaining (or the owner has to renew to sell it), so you don't run into issues like you just did.

Yeah, exactly.

Of the last three domains I purchased, I also didn't receive any notice the domains were moved to my account. I just happened to see them sitting there.

It's a poorly designed system if you can be delivered a domain expiring the next day, without notice, and auto-renew is set to off.

GoDaddy made a mistake here. Their explanation is just an excuse. They should have taken responsibility for the mistake instead of lying.

I have bought a 100+ domain name in the past few months from both GoDaddy auctions and Closeouts and ALL of them came with Auto Renewal enabled and with an automatic 1 year renewal which I paid for.

And that includes names registered at GoDaddy and those from third-party registrars.

The excuse they gave you is just GoDaddy failing to take responsibility for their mistake.

Also, some of the names were bought through GoDaddy Search Path so their excuse does not work in any way.

Total revenue generated figure on the dashboard does not show LTO revenue, it should.
