By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

GoDaddy made a mistake here. Their explanation is just an excuse. They should have taken responsibility for the mistake instead of lying.

I have bought a 100+ domain name in the past few months from both GoDaddy auctions and Closeouts and ALL of them came with Auto Renewal enabled and with an automatic 1 year renewal which I paid for.

And that includes names registered at GoDaddy and those from third-party registrars.

The excuse they gave you is just GoDaddy failing to take responsibility for their mistake.

Also, some of the names were bought through GoDaddy Search Path so their excuse does not work in any way.

Here also same, Today i found in my account a domain purchased from closeout without receiving any delivery email !! I checked my email inbox & junk twice to see if email received but NOT !!

Check "Promotions".

A lot of GoDaddy's transaction completed emails I received ended up under Promotions.

This is regarding the Afternic program. The buyer was asking if it's possible to structure the deal with a larger down payment to ensure they have more skin in the game and reduce the risk of them walking away.


I recently sold a domain for around $30,000 through the program. One advantage is that once the lease-to-own option is exercised, the commission drops to just 10%, regardless of when the buyer pays it off—even if it's the very next day. You receive 90% of the sale price, though GoDaddy keeps all the interest, which, in my opinion, is likely worth more than the 5% commission they're giving up.

just did my first checkout link a day ago. buyer paid right away. 5% fee. now that sav needs kyc to put bin page lol and dyna while no kyc rip u off at 10%.. well I guess it's back to afternic

dan 5p was my goto for years.
we all know how that went.

anyway.. an seems good

any idea how long to pay? they all went fast transfer. 4x435 4lcom pack deal

How do I become "account-managed"?

Account managers are assigned to sellers with a consistent, sizable monthly sales volume. For example, AbdulBasit has an account manager, and you can check out his monthly sales volume on his blog, abdulbasit.com.

Total revenue generated figure on the dashboard does not show LTO revenue, it should.

@GoDaddy Ok, so I can't become "account-managed", nor can most. Not sure the point of answering my suggestions by telling me some can access what I want - but I, and most others, cannot. This is akin to someone sitting in economy class asking for a cookie, and the steward responding "Cookies are reserved for those in First Class, and you sir, are in economy".

It would've been better solely to mention your last sentence; "We'll pass this feedback along to the Product team to explore whether this could be implemented at scale in the future." I appreciate you sending the suggestion to the product team. Hopefully they are able to add the ideas for the thousands of "economy class" Afternic sellers.

Having a dedicated rep could be based on portfolio value and size, along with domain quality. Not what you sell. I thought they did the selling.

yep 24h payout is great.

but u know... u killed dan and their add lead also 5percent.. which worked great... fast etc.. so really in a sense u owed it to domainers to offer something same equally good

Something is not working.

I'm going thru all my domains to see if any others have vanished.

The 2 I mentioned earlier, I resubmitted.

It says this:
Fast Transfer Status

Off​

So I click the Set up Fast Transfer button, I'm doing it again as I type this

Says check email from registrar.

I did this for both of the names, never got an email. So I'm doing it again today

I did type these names into Dynadot and Namecheap and they show up available to buy. Does that mean Fast Transfer is actually On and the message in Afternic is wrong? Or they just show up to buy but not Fast Transfer?

The one on hold if disappeared from your registrar account then could be a sale under process .

Another issue. So issues here as well. So there was a lead from 2 weeks ago.

I click Needs Attention - nothing there

I click Sale Pending - nothing there

I click More/In Progress - nothing there

I click All - then I see it

Then, I never received an email on this. Any lead, Self Brokered or leads that go to Afternic broker, we should get some notice.

I just wanted to post a positive Afternic experience.

Afternic rep asks what I want for a domain. I quoted $8,500.

Later on in the day...

7:31PM - Congrats your domain sold email.

7:46PM - We are ready to transfer your domain.

7:56PM - Provided auth code at Afternic.

8:05PM - Your transfer is complete.

8:06PM - Your funds are on the way.

That's an efficient transaction.

just did my first checkout link a day ago.

I'm glad it worked for you...I tried to create one just last night and it said that LTO was not available...it would only let me create a link for a BIN transaction.

Just checking...was your link for a BIN?
