Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

is csv upload working properly?

I just uploaded a file of ~150 csv names. Nothing happened. Not sure if it runs in the background and eventually updates - but so far, I just uploaded the file... and then... nada.

How do these partial "Update: Just add/update domain listings in my file." CSV updates work?

EDIT: I found this "This may take up to a few hours for your names to be processed. "
So I will have to wait to see if it works.

Double check your LTO settings: Default 60 month LTO was added to listings.

Bulk LTO update doesn't work so I had to turn it off manually.

Thanks to Alan S., bug that prevented my domain from showing up in the GoDaddy reg path has been fixed.

It was a .io domain.

Hi @Afternic

after removing bin and floor price from a listing, it went to under review. This is unusual imo. The particular domain was listed long ago in afternic without any problem until i removed the bin and floor.

Iโ€™ve also become increasingly frustrated with the follow-up time of Afternic brokers. Now that we have visibility in the Lead Center, I canโ€™t figure out what sort of rules Afternic has in place for its brokers on how often they are supposed to follow up with prospects. Itโ€™s all over the place. So, Iโ€™d like to self-broker more of my domains.

It's good that self brokerage option is coming soon.

Lets hope they will give us access to OUR previous leads...you know the ones, those that the 'broker' never reached out to (or did a piss poor job).

There are a few great brokers I've dealt with over the years, but there is more than one dud on the payroll. There is clearly a lack of oversight by management...otherwise the leads that do not/have not had proper follow up would have activity.

Hi @GoDaddy. Thanks for looking into this. I called AN a couple of months ago when I discovered my full name was being shown, but you guys couldnโ€™t care less. Actually, the operator cared, but when I asked it be escalated to GD security & Product Mgmt, it was dismissed.

To replicate this, use a private browser and a new GD acct -> my products -> domains -> Afternic (screenshot) as a new user.

This gets you started with no warning that your affiliate ID is your email address. When I discovered this, I had to delist all of my names, and create a new acct directly from AN (rather than going by way of GD). Hopefully that helps.

Thanks, @Molly. We'll DM you for more.

@GoDaddy I keep seeing that I have a new message in "Account" section on Afternic: "Please setup a payee account to receive your domain sales payments". The thing is that I had set up payment method since I became a member. When I click on "Setup payee account" I can see my default payee and the second payee that I have, so I don't know why this annoying message keeps showing. I had contacted Afternic and they replied "We can confirm that your account is properly set up and your payment information is filled out correctly." If it is properly set up why do I have to see this every time I log in to Afternic?
Hi @Domain Pro Seller
Thanks for letting us know. We've reported this to the Afternic team.

@Afternic
new bug, when a LTO is canceled, I request to push the domain on my godaddy account.
the domain now appear here : https://www.afternic.com/sales?status=awaitingAuthCode

new bug, impossible to delete domains by 500

new bug (maybe), I cannot use filters from July August, neither bulk search with my account.

new bug : need to login every few minutes, 12 hours cookie would be nice instead.

bug for years : impossible to upload big CSV

lack of features :
impossible to bulk edit LTO periods, even asking support manager.
impossible to bulk edit landers, even asking support manager.
impossible to sell using LTO in case of ICAAN locked, whereas DAN can.
no API for editing easily things.

Dan has all things working + many more, why dont you use it instead for afternic listing ? You always tell us that you improve everything but it would take years to be at the level of dan if you dont work with good coders.
Hi @davidc1
Thanks for letting us know. We'll connect with your account manager to address some of these. We're also due to increase the upload size for CSV files in the near future.

Bulk editing LTO can be done through the "Pricing" option in your toolbar - head there for up to 500 domains at a time. We're also working to improve bulk editing and LTO updates.

For Landers, you can either use the Sale Landers option in the footer toolbar, or use the Bulk Lander Update button to enter and update up to 1,000 at a time.

@GoDaddy, whatโ€™s your payment policy for sold domains that are still within the 60-day lock period?
We recommend discussing this directly with the TA team, but in many cases, this will act like a regular auth-code sale.

Double check your LTO settings: Default 60 month LTO was added to listings.

Bulk LTO update doesn't work so I had to turn it off manually.
Hi @silentg
Thanks for sharing the reminder. For others following along - your LTO settings are available to quickly preview by exporting your portfolio through afternic.com/domains.

Updating LTO pricing can currently be done for up to 500 domains at a time by clicking the "Pricing" option in the footer toolbar.

Hi @OceanKing
Thanks for letting us know. Aside from trademark checks, In Review does apply to some domain status changes. We will be working to improve the In Review system, and your feedback is valuable as we look at that feature. For now, to take this out of the review setting quickly, we recommend reaching out to support.

Do you think it's solutions for someone who have 100K domains ?
It's also impossible to export domains, so impossible to edit only a part of the portfolio, the whole portfolio have to be edited everytime.
Just check how dan work for that, you'll know how to do things well. All features they have are needed.

@GoDaddy Is there any update about when Afternic will introduce invoices/transaction summaries just like Dan.com does?

And here's yet another reason why it makes sense for GoDaddy to just continue using Dan instead of attempting to move everything from Dan to Afternic.

Add no plans for analytics to the growing list ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ

It's just so silly. I could understand it if Dan didn't sell themselves to GoDaddy, and GoDaddy had no choice but to copy features from Dan to Afternic. But Dan did sell themselves to GoDaddy, so there's no need to copy everything from Dan to Afternic. JUST - USE - DAN.

@GoDaddy , I just made an offer on one of my names. The Afternic mail goes to spam directly, so this is a huge issue, I believe a fellow domainer already reported this issue previously. Any update on this?

1725391675483.png

Moreover the broker closed the inquiry with stalled status, no follow up, no calls, nothing.

This way will be extremely inefficient to use price request lander or the custom lander with make offer enabled.
We would appreciate if the fix would be a priority. Thanks

If true, this broker should be retrained or reassigned @GoDaddy . While the spam isn't his fault, it IS his job to follow up with the buyer. I would ask to see his follow up emails from this buyers request. If he can't show any prior to closing the request, perhaps a reassignment to a department that better suits his skill set is in order?

Daddy probably give him a bonus for job well done.

Me. All names on afternic not for sale. Dan make offer.
1. Very few names left
2. Not desperate
3. I will never use daddyโ€™s services again
He is gonna keep filling you all with so much meat youโ€™ll think your walk in coolers.
Pretty sad what these registrars get away with, sums up the biz

How do you remove the existing bin and floor prices in a bulk action ?
if we select all domains and go to pricing, if we set the fields blank and update, there is no effect it seems. The existing floor and bin remains same.

You need to put a $0 and that will remove it. If you leave it blank it means you don't want that field changed
