Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

@GoDaddy I noticed that the landing pages for my domains have stopped functioning properly. Although all my domains in the Afternic account have a Custom lander settings, which includes a fixed price and the option for Lease to Own, all domains have the NS: ns1.afternic.com and ns2.afternic.com. Everything was working fine a couple of weeks ago, but now, for a large number of domains (thousands), when I enter the domain in the browser's address bar, instead of the Custom lander, either the page 'This domain is registered, but may still be available' opens, or a page with 'Get a price in less than 24 hours.' To make this clear, I am attaching screenshots with domains names so everybody was able to verify:

If I enter the domain in the browser's address bar the page is redirected to wrong page:

All my domains have a fixed price for a reason. I need the buyer to be able to purchase the domain immediately when they enter it into the browser's address bar, rather than leaving their contact details to find out the price and wait. Please fix the issue and avoid such mistakes in the future

Check if the names in question are "In Review" status. Sometimes I see the page you showed when my names go into that status

Why Afternic is blocked by ISP Airtel in India?

Thank you for your involvement. As I mentioned earlier, there were no such issues with these domains before. All domains have the status 'Listed' and everything was working fine until something broke. Now, some domains open the Custom Landing, while others show the two pages I mentioned in my previous message. It seems that the problem started around September 3-4, as that's when requests for different domains from potential buyers began to appear in my Lead Center in my Afternic account, even though all domains have fixed prices

@GoDaddy - Using Firefox, closing this popup modal doesn't work:

Cleared cache / cookies and still the same. Only goes away when I refresh but comes back every time I log back in.
Hi @silentg
Thanks for flagging this! We've identified the issue and a fix is on its way. Appreciate your patience.

@GoDaddy

Do you still consider Dan.com the best choice for landers compared to Afternic?

What about the promised percentages of 40-90%?

Why try to reinvent the wheel when such a successful marketplace already exists, with 2.5 million domains still pointed to it based on NS?

Hi @Future Sensors
We've integrated the Dan.com lander with Afternic and added GoDaddy branding (Custom Lander), so sellers have multiple choices when it comes to Afternic landers. While I don't have Dan's specific data, I can tell you that the Custom Lander at Afternic is popular.

Thanks for sharing this. We've spotted a sync issue, and our team is already investigating. We'll get this updated as soon as possible.

Great answer, but it doesn’t help me much, because I asked some very specific questions and the text is still present on the Dan.com website. However, I do understand that I have more freedom to talk than you do.

Thanks for your response.

Self-brokerage will be coming to Afternic

I wonder how much extra commission we'll have to pay Afternic for the privilege of handling our own leads. 😄

I expect commission actually to be lower when you do self-brokerage.

But Afternic may surprise us again.

Hi.
I am trying to set up my payment settings so that I can receive funds from PayPal if the funds are lower than a certain amount and through Wire Transfer if it is over it. How can I do this?

My payments were default to Wire Transfer with Payment Threshold of 1500$ and PayPal (not default) for amounts with Payment Threshold of 50$ but it did not work for a recent payment of 300$ and the payment got stuck.

When I first contacted Afternic support about my funds and they said that "when the funds are processed they will be going your payee method with the ID of xxxx396 and is currently set to wire transfer". And so I changed my default Payout to PayPal and sent them the email to process it now. But they are now saying "Please be advised that the sale of xxxxxxx.com is associated with a payee ID: xxxx396. Nickname: xxxxxxCI" (Wire Transfer). You should change this ID to PayPal if you want to receive the payment there." And I explored inside my Afternic account and I think there no way to change the ID from user's side. So can it be changed? And how can I set up my payment settings so that this does not happen again?

Afternic support is slow to reply and half of the time they don't seem to understand what the query is, what is being asked and reply with a solution which was not sought for.

@bashariqbal For certain non-automatic sales, you can specify your preferred payment method for the individual sale. This isn’t done through the general settings, but instead, you’ll find a button to configure this in the domain details of your sold domain.

Are you talking about the "Edit" button above?

No. It goes to the same URL https://www.afternic.com/account/payments which is inside Settings > Payment Settings.
I see, thanks.

I can’t simulate it on my end right now because I don’t have an active sale.

It might be that another button should appear in that spot, but that it’s not showing for you.

I recall that for some sales, payment method can still be made on an individual domain basis.

@GoDaddy may be able to help further.

@bashariqbal Somewhere in this long thread, there should be a screenshot of what that specific button looks like, but finding it might take some serious time. So, the easiest solution is to wait for @GoDaddy's response :)
