Considering that 888828888.com sold for not less than 700$, I made some research and found out that most of them are gone already!
Domains like 555999666.com without 444 are all gone too.
But this pattern of 888???888.com still have some (148 names) available for reg fee
Its better to look in while it is still there.

This is true, and I'm not claiming to be an expert. My guess is that they were definitely not "Chinese buyers". And if they're re-sellers hoping to sell to China, they should be careful. Those were probably American buyers, and I believe a lot of those matched Zip Codes, or they had a different desirable interest to an end user. Many East Coast zip codes start with 0. No doubt the Chinese won't buy a name with a 4 in it, and those are American buyers. I would do the WHO IS lookup, but don't have the time. Guessing no Chinese names whatsoever on the WHO IS.

Yes. This. The point is out here in the "no mans land" of longer numerics, there are far better places to invest and speculate.

For 6N and beyond, the size of the pool gets dramatically big(ger). Unless you know exactly what you're doing and looking at, avoid 0, 4 and even 5 -- because the 5 meaning "not" can dramatically change the meaning to things.

Not all Chinese are probably superstitious with it. I'm sure some will buy them. There is just a clear pattern with good domains being available with 4's in them and being purposely avoided. I think we've all seen that. But again, China and Asia is a big area. And maybe if they want the domain bad enough they don't give into that superstition. There are some people here who feel weird buying 666, and there's people like me who have no prob with it. I don't think they're all against it. Might even be lucky for some people. Who knows. My personal lucky number is 4, and a series of 4's in all my passwords, etc...

lol.... ya I know. It was only $3.99 and such a well known date, and someone let it drop last January. I put up a forum at economyus.com awhile ago in case the market collapses, and figure I could use the name, maybe for a shortcut to the site. And for only $3.99 I thought why not.

Another thing is, is that numerics are so darn popular these days, thought I should grab the date. What people may not realize, is that most areas of the old collectibles such as baseball cards, stamps, coins, etc... disappeared when the internet came around. The value really went down next to nothing as people were suddenly connected together worldwide via the web, and the rare coins and cards were no longer rare anymore as they were everywhere. So now, the game has changed, and it appears that numeric domains are the new collectibles of the future. Anyway, that's my theory on all of this. Whether people use them or not, they're becoming collectibles.

Who knows... in 10 years from now maybe people will be using numeric domains for everything and every site, similar to a phone number. It's the way of the future in my opinion. So some of these I may not even be interested in selling for a very long time, and just somewhat "collecting" them. I believe all of us here are on the front line of something very new of which we don't realize the importance nor potential. L's are different in this area than N's, in my opinion. N's may be flat out collectible with a much larger potential.

Since cell phone numbers rarely change these days, wait until people want to start buying their own phone numbers, only to find that they're gone. Phone numbers may become personal websites down the road.

I usually dont reg #4, but I have 2 domains with #4 and I am sure one day I will find the buyer.

That is a real interesting domain, as it has the 84 element and the 0, a bit of a mixed bag but I tend to think someone may like it. I have 000888444 (this is a 9N style thread) Some will say the 0 is no good at the front, some will say the 000 makes a good aspect to the pattern, the 888's and the 444's are also interesting.

Namebio shows some sales for 444, I believe this will only increase in the upcoming years

Ok 9N has a lot combinations, but the most of them useless because it is difficult to memorize 9N, so it must to have some signification or to be simmetrical.
And really all possible easy combination of 9N are not so much as all think, and there are a lot of chinese or people who collects this kind of domains.
I cant valuate my 7N, 8N and 9N list, but I know for sure I earn with it more than I paid.
