1. Sports Betting/Sportsbook domains will got hotter. As per the previous comment, Vegas will always be a popular destination even with sports betting legal in many other places because of the atmosphere there. The Raiders coming to town next year will give another reason to visit.

2. Four digit Alpha numeric domains will finally catch on. I have had more of these sales that in any other niche this year, but they have still not caught on like the three digit alpha numeric domains have.

3. Brandable domains will continue to rise in value, with the shorter 4 letter pronounceable domains greatly rising in value.

Overreach by a governing body, or an unfair/inconvenient mistake or ruling imposed by some other prominent entity (registrar, CloudFlare, etc), will shake the foundation of the domain market (gently, but strong enough), resulting in folks to make more-discerning choices with respect to where and how they hold their portfolios.

I’m not savvy enough to predict anything specific. But in short, that odor we all smell emitting from the .org sale will linger and perhaps spread to other facets of our industry. We’ll be grateful for those entities which remain honorable and accountable in their dealings. We’ll convene on these boards to discuss who those trustworthy entities are.

My 2020 predictions:

MARIJUANA/WEED domains will get hot and hotter. It's not all smoke and mirrors. It's real. BILLIONS of dollars real. Get your piece.

SPACE: Elon. Bezos. Your grandma. Everyone is getting in on this act. To go where no man has gone before.

Raining CATS and DOGS: Yes, the world is becoming more and more connected yet people are becoming more and more lonely. The paradox of our times. To make up for it, cuddly creatures will be our comfort. Buy pet names. Cats. Dogs. You're welcome.

BTW, we ALL should endeavor to make ONE fantastical sale. One of those "even if I told you, you still wouldn't believe it". A story to tell our grand kids. Crossing my fingers. Will report back in a year.

If anything, Elon Musk has single-handedly raised the exposure and value of the word CYBER. So if you have any names with "cyber" in it, be prepared to raise prices!

I am actually working on a blog post on the topic, and some of the predictions here may get highlighted on that post. I predict there will be an increase in Tech startup companies. The world I look at has a lot of security risks, so security and tech more and more together.

Every few years I need a new email address it seems with all the spam out there. Perhaps someone can fix that!! Id buy a share in that company!!
