Can you give me some places I can go to sign up for Advertising?

I am looking for Search engine advertising for my website.

I do not want to be on page 1,000 if you know what I mean.

Or if you have any ideas on the most effective way to advertise.

have you tryed google adwords?
also SEO consultants would be able to help you, optimize your site for the search engines, however most expert seo's charge a bit..
