This is the story of a domain name, jogg.com.
It's my only top domain and I'm putting it up for sale here.

It all started in 2001 with the idea of a Flash games site. I developed the first one, then installed it. I needed a name, so I came up with "jogg". It was short, playful and sounded good. jogg.net was available, not .com.

On this site, I played alone. And I continued to develop my games.

Flash offered unprecedented possibilities! Fluid, fast, light, this format had all the qualities needed to develop fast, fun games. I quickly developed 5 games and linked them to a database to record scores.

At the time, there were no social networks. And very few game sites. I had to exchange links with other sites. Which was starting to bring in a little traffic.

The community is growing and in 2002 I'm earning a bit of money with advertising and a few sponsors. There are about 1000 players daily. And I can buy jogg.com from a Canadian who has no use for it.

He sells it to me for $1500.

During 2003, 2004 and 2005 I develop 20 games and open a forum. There are now 2 championships (individual and team) and 3 leagues. The community grows to 50,000 members and from 4,000 to 10,000 players a day. The forum is getting bigger and bigger, and I'm starting to earn a good living.

Major French medias (TV, radios mainly) wanted to open a games section, so I sold somme of my games under a white label.

From 2005 to 2007, I developed an avatar system that really boosted revenues.

But the arrival of Facebook is beginning to overshadow the site, and even more so the community. Players can now play directly where they find their friends, messages, news and so on.

By 2008, I'd rather close the site than see its community eroded. I then used it as a simple blog, where the most motivated former players continued to post.

In 2009, it became my professional site, where I present my work as a designer.

For several years, players clamored for its return, and in 2012 I relaunched a new version. But times have changed. And despite the success of the site and a great community, I decided to put an end to it in 2014.

This site will once again become my business page. Before opening another in my own name.

Today, I'm selling this very important domain name for one reason: to finance a new project.
The launch page is here: https://jiri.fr/index_en.htm

I sincerely believe that we need to turn the page on social networking as it is today. We all know people, children and adults alike, who have been trapped by them. At first, it was a good idea. But the slow drift of these networks has ended up doing more harm than good.

If you're interested in the project, don't hesitate to contact me.

If you really want it to take off, buy jogg.com, it's a solid name that will never lose its value.
