discuss Can you remove a counter-offer after submission, potentially to offer a lower price?

As a seller, if one has presented a counteroffer on a domain, is there any flexibility of submitting a different one, in this case potentially a lower one to minimize the back-and-forth negotiations? On Dan, there was a nice feature, at least in the past, where the seller could remove...

    advice Fishing eMail Inquiries

When someone emails to ask, “would you sell X for $xx,xxx?” I look at as a fishing expedition. Some may also call it tire kicking, but people who ask about buying a domain name at a certain price are usually more interested in fishing for the right number rather than simply kicking the tires on...

discuss Let's Talk Domain Pricing Strategy (2020)

I don't know about other domain investors, but I have been getting much more aggressive about my pricing. I'm quoting top prices and sticking to my guns. I'm not desperate to sell any domains and I rather wait for buyers that have real ideas and real budgets for my more valuable domains...

What do you think is going on in the scenario pictured below? What do you think my next offer should be? (I will likely be offline for the next couple of hours in case I don't answer any questions you have promptly).

    strategy Offer response strategy

Hello - what do you all typically do when receiving an offer on Dan.com? Do you counter-offer? Is there anything else that you would do to maximize price like putting domain up for auction and notifying the potential buyer? I've only owned a domain for a few days and just received a 5-figure...

discuss What is your negotiation trick in high ticket domain sales?

Negotiating domain offers and closing sales are tough and tricky. One very important lesson is to master the habit of saying NO. When to say "Yes" and when to say "NO" are really important in closing the deals. Here are two important lessons I learnt: “Decline is the king”. “Needy is...

Every domain investor has his or her rhyme and reason for how they optimally price their domain portfolio when negotiating domain sales agreements. Some domain investors strictly use a multiple to determine domain pricing (i.e., 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 25x, 50x, 100x, etc.). Other investors use...

    discuss Blew a domain deal

I happen to blow a domain deal. One of my hand reg names got an inquiry with an initial offer of $350. I was looking for a quick flip and had a rough price point of around $1,000. I countered with $1,500. The other came up to $600. I stood firm. They moved to $800 and later $900. I was firm to...
