Hi all!

We’ve created this thread to make it easier to communicate with us here on Namepros, and we’ll also be posting regular updates on our offers and products. Please feel free to share any feedback and suggestions with us, or to let us know if there’s anything we can assist with.

We’d like to kick things off with an extension of our $7.99 .COM transfer sale, the code “COMTRANS4” has been extended until 23:59 PST on May 31, and there’s no limit on how many domains you can transfer using the code. Every month we have great prices on a wide selection of domains, and you can find a full list of our sales here:

https://www.dynadot.com/sales.html

We’re also excited to share that our CEO, Todd Han, will be hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) right here on Namepros in the near future, with more information on a date and time coming soon.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
Since yesterday, it hasn't been possible to update nameservers for .in domains. "The connection to the central registry is busy."

That is quite a long time for one of the biggest .in registrars outside of India.

I just got this from Dynadot. Worth noting for anyone who lets their names expire before renewing:

For me seems very bad option.
Now you can renew with $10 extra or transfer away between 30th and 38-40th day of expiration.
With new rule after 30th day you will have to pay about $150 that is the usual restore price.

Hello! So this applies to any .COM registration as long as it is not a Re-Reg! A re-reg is a domain that is registered within the same day that it drops, but after that it works for the discount! The reason we can't offer the discount for Re-Reg's is because the Registry does not offer us the same discounts for them. Sometimes we are able too offer Re-Reg Specific sales, but those come up fairly rarely. Sorry about that!

Hello, There's currently a thread discussing our new Policy, and I'm just sharing my response for it here as well. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Hey Everyone,

Sorry for my late response on this, I've been out of office since last Thursday.

I see everyone rightly has a ton of questions about this, so I thought I'd chime in to see if I can answer some for you!

The single largest complaint we get about our platform is the integrity of our expired auctions. Since registrants can renew or transfer out anytime during the grace renewal period, a handful of our expired auctions were never able to complete which ended up wasting everyone's time. This new policy is to help make sure all our auctions go through, as well as to bring our Registration period to be more in line with other Registrars to make for a more unified experience across the board.

Now of course you're wondering, what does this mean for you?

So the domain still has the full 30 days after it expires in which you can renew and transfer the domain, but at day 30 when the domain goes into the Expired Auction, you can no longer renew or transfer it. While you can still restore it, if an auction gets a bid it will be unavailable for restoration. I know it might take some time to get used to this, but this should make our EA process infinitely better for bidders.

I'm not sure if we have a concrete list of TLD Restoration Costs at the moment, but I have already notified our team to craft something like that and will post it on NP, so you are always aware of how much you're working with. At the moment, you can currently find out any Restoration cost of any TLD by selecting the TLD from this page here: https://www.dynadot.com/domain/tlds-prices (For Example, .COM is currently $89.99).

I hope I answered all the basic questions, but please let me know if you'd like me to elaborate on anything else!

Cheers,
Caleb

Hello, Our payout methods for User Auctions are the same as our regular payout methods for domain sales! We currently offer Paypal as our main Payout method, with Alipay available for CNY and Check available for USD. We're looking into adding Wire Transfers, but haven't solidified anything as of yet. Here is our full payout policy: https://www.dynadot.com/community/help/question/payout-policy

While there isn't currently a way for that, I can certainly check if we can put a setting on the account to switch the bubble on/off!

I think, cents in the price on landers are absolutely not needed, for prices that are set without cents.
Alternatively, they can be made smaller.
There are enough progressive domain selling platforms in the world that have realized that extra digits only interfere with the perception of the price. It was Dynadot's turn to do it!:xf.smile:

Hello, Just letting you know that this has been changed, so cents have been removed from the landing page if they are 0.

Hi Everyone,

We’re continuing our monthly product feature to showcase some of the products and tools we offer! We’re hoping that this will help familiarize new users with our platform, and brush up knowledge with our established users as well!

This month’s product feature is our API!

The Dynadot API is our exclusive system to manage almost everything for your Dynadot Account including automating registrations, without needing to even log in to Dynadot! You can Search for Domain Availability, Register Domains in Bulk, Set Name Servers, Renew Domains and much more!

While it is handy to have your own system or API terminal to put commands into, with our API you can input commands directly into any Browser! Here’s how to get started with it:

First, grab your API Key from the Tools section of your Account here: https://www.dynadot.com/account/domain/setting/api.html. You’ll then need to unlock your account and enter your password to grab your key. If you believe that someone else has unauthorized access to your Api Key, you can also delete the current key and generate a new one from this menu here. Below that, you can also specify which IP addresses can only access your key. If you leave it blank, any IP can access your API with the key.

Now that you have the API Key, you can now start using our API! You can check the list of commands from this page here: https://www.dynadot.com/domain/api-commands#animate, which detail all the instructions for every command our API can do. Our commands also come with a list of example commands so you know how it should look if you’ve never done an API Call before. I've also attached photos showing example commands, search results, search parameters, and the final image shows a completed API search.

When using the API to Register, Renew, or Transfer a domain, you must first make sure that you have Prepaid your account first, as you cannot use a credit card through the API. This allows you to automate your API purchases and get instant results!

That’s all I have for now, if you have any questions regarding our API, please let me know, or reach out to our support team at [email protected].

Cheers,
Caleb

As positive feedback, my first Dynadot domain sale has happened using their landers. Within two weeks of switching the domains from another marketplace lander, a sale was made. And the payment was credited to my account in 10 days.

The Dynadot landers do seem quite nice, and the AI-generated descriptions potentially a sale-booster. If anyone has had positive experiences with these landers, feel free to share them. Perhaps the added AI help will be a game changer for increasing sales?

Thanks, Dynadot, for the innovative landers!

Glad to hear it's working out for you! Congrats on the sale :)

Hi @calebdynadot
I haven’t followed this thread until now. So apologies if this has been asked before. I have checked the last few pages and there is no mention of it…
When I login I need to enter the Captcha verification code in order to receive the SMS token. However I find very frequently that when I enter the captcha the first time I receive a message that it's incorrect (even when I have checked that I have entered it correctly. It always seems to work when I refresh and enter the second code that is generated.
Is there any chance this captcha can be turned off? It gets quite frustrating...

Thanks.
Are you or any other forum members still having issues getting the SMS tokens? This has been a recurrent, intermittent problem for me, and makes it challenging to reliably sign into Dynadot.

Any other folks having this ongoing problem? Or can Caleb help to try to resolve this? Chat support last week said they were unable to help, but referred it to their accounts section. I have yet to hear back from them.

No issues here anymore. However, my problem was actually with the Captcha, not with the SMS specifically. I was in touch with Caleb via PM or email at that time. He said he would raise it with his Team. A few days later they apparently made some changes to the Captcha and since then I only ever have to enter it once. Then I get the SMS just fine. Hopefully, @calebdynadot can get something sorted for you.

I'd like to check into your account on this one, as I haven't heard of any wide-spread problems of the SMS not going through at the moment! Please DM me your username :)

Sorry if someone else already brought this issue (I haven't read the whole thread), but on the landing page next to ''Contact us'', there is nothing - no phone, no email or form to fill.

I'll see if we can get something added there, even a link to our contact page. We do have the "request support" tab in the corner, but I can see how having something beside the actual "Contact Us" tab could be more helpful. Thanks for the suggestion!
