I think I will start for .asia domain name show case where you could put the .asian domain names you have got.

I got

smallbusinesses .asia
mentaldisorder .asia
mentaldisorders .asia (390 searches per day)
bipolardisorder .asia (2660 searches per day)
personalitydisorder .asia ( about 350 searches per day)
personalitydisorders .asia (560 searches per day)
myweblog .asia (for providing free weblogs)
myjournal .asia (for providing free weblogs)

I got a few mental health domain names. I belive asia population is more than half of the world's population and there are millions of mental health patients.

Just got more .asia domains.
=====================

companydirectory .asia (This one is my favorite so far, more than smallbusinesses .asia, about 350 searches per day)
pagan .asia (about 750 searches per day)
HomePlan .asia
orientalrestaurant .asia
onlineroulette .asia (onlineroulette.co.uk sold for xx,xxx very recently)

I've been at work all day and this is really the first proper chance I've had to search thru .asia domains. I've spent in total about 3 hours now and my findings are very interesting.

First of all... heres a few of the domains I registered:

LiveFootball.asia
CamCam.asia
OnlineDoctors.asia
OnlineDoctor.asia
MySites.asia
KeyGen.asia
FunnySites.asia
PrintOnline.asia

Ok, so they aren't the greatest names... but I'm happy with that for now.

I searched a lot of obscure names. Even three word combinations... and A LOT of names are taken. One which I had in my cart earlier today was gone... it was very stupid of me not to reg it there and then.

Anyway, I think a lot of people are registering and a LOT of good domains are already getting taken up. I'm no expert either, but I think this extension is going to do well...

Good luck to everyone :)

It's unbelievable how many are taken, I think I would drop them all 'OneTime'.....I'm really sorry but they just aren't good enough IMO

Get some better ones ...

Luckily I have a few contacts in Asia, so that wasn't a huge problem for me. Without someone based in Asia, I don't think you can reg at GoDaddy. Apparently EuroDNS allow it, they provide a CED - so check that out.

I've been using Moniker though. They also require a contact in Asia, but the registration process is much easier imo and also $5 cheaper than GoDaddy.

Just two so far:

cvcv.asia
virtualtours.asia

I have many more I am considering, but I don't want to rush anything. If I have to give something a day's thought and it ends up getting taken, that's just the way it goes. Either it wasn't meant to be or it wasn't a good enough name to begin with.

Best of luck! :tu:

You really think they're that bad? Wow... I really should think more before registering then.

I got one more...

SlrCamera.asia

I've getting them based on keyword-discovery / overture research. They seemed to have decent searches. And amongst the ones I wanted they were the best that were available. Rest are already gone.

I have to agree with those who have expressed the point of view to reconsider what is being registered. Many of the names I see being registered are a complete waste of money & will be dropped come registration time. Assuming most will just sit, park, & "hope" the end user comes along, it is very apparent that these names are shots in the dark mixed in with "hype registering".

For your information I only picked up one which is for my own use only. You can call it putting down, I call it being honest & calling it as I see it. Just like .eu, many are jumping in hand & fist registering anything just to say they got in. This is not the way to do business.

I said if your making such a comment and yes it is putting down IMO......,,,,Call it what you will, I say back it up........Just a respect thing IMO, so what's yours???????? It could be a great one as it should be

I don't have to back up anything as I have a right to my opinion whether you or anyone else likes it or not. One can't deny that this .asia hype is very similar to what played out with .eu & how profitable was that for the average person?

Anyway...........

also, where is a good place to park .asia names? Seems Sedo doesn't recognise them yet - taking ages to verify the names?

Chill out people! Its just opinions... Each to their own...

Not everyone is into the same thing, its all speculation really. Lets not be sheeps, its good everyone is trying different things. As with anything (maybe other than .com's and other established extensions) its always a risk... especially with any NEW extension.

The risk is quite big. Around $15 per gamble! So its good to be careful. Be wise. I'll personally only reg 10 domains in total for now. I set my budget and will be sticking to it.

Others have thousands of dollars to spend. Some don't care. Some are staying well clear... its your choice - I always say its worth going with your gut feeling... but just remember your pockets have feelings too ;)

Good luck to everyone.
