Hi guys,

My name is Kevin, been following this forum for quite awhile, but joined because I wanted to share a news. I am a VP of product at Dub.io, which is a small tool that our team has been building for a few weeks.

We wanted to see if we can create a new (and hopefully better) domain parking tool. We've named ourselves "Dub.io" - nice and short. It works like this.

  1. Sign-up and you will get a website - to which, you can of course point your domain to. However, if you don't want to, that's ok. We will give you a Dub.io sub-domain.

  2. Once that's done, you can start "populating" the site with contents. This can come from RSS feeds, YouTube videos or just from the web articles. Dub.io takes care of automatically crawling these and inserting into your site.

  3. Each content can also be automatically tweeted to your designated Twitter account (this will usually bring more traffic and also get you some followers). You can also set up so that it's automatically posted to Blogger or Tumblr sites too.

  4. And of course, you can monetize it. Right now, we allow you to insert your own Google AdSense ads and VigLink code. The best part? You keep all the revenue generated from your sites. We don't take anything.

  5. Each site is all responsive to different screen-sizes. We try to include a variety of media types like images and related videos so contents are more engaging. Right now, we are in a "testing" phase, so everything is free! We would love for you to come and check us out and let me know if you have any questions.
Would love to discuss via this thread or if you have any questions, you can email me at hello @ dub.io

Thank you so much for your time guys.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
@Kevin Johnson Its the layout and the colors imo. Although its pretty clean what does what it's not very appealing. Also the stats/ data could be better perhaps showing where the traffic comes from?

Other than that it is a pretty good service :D

@kingdombunniez

Thanks for clarifying. You're right. Right now, we only have one single "design". We launched with it, but we are planning to release more "themes". So that users can pick and choose from different designs of the site.

Also, we are pretty close from allowing our users to edit the entire site's CSS - so if you know some basic CSS styling, you can change the way the site looks yourself.

Hopefully that will help you customize the site the way you want.

I really like your suggestion of where the traffic is coming from - We'll try to add that information on our dashboard.

@NitroJunkie

You're right. VigLink and Yllix will both work on the same page, since they function differently. I'lll make that clear on our documentation.

In terms of Google Ads - we need to make this clear too - we want to make sure that Google Ads are only displayed on pages that are allowed - this might limit its visibility.

Really like your idea of translating the site. I'm sure there is a way to make the entire site translate to another language. Will look into it!

Hi @Asfas1000

Sorry about that bug. There was a mix-up for just a very handful of pages where it was picking up default Dub's Google ads. Resolved it. I also checked your sites and looks like they are displaying Amazon links correctly now.

Hi Kevin, one of the two sites shows Amazon properly, the other is still on Adsense.
Maybe reason is that there is some Adsense code in it too. I cannot remove this code, the system is giving me an error.

I am an investor from China, and this is my first post in this domain name forum.
Your project is not very good for me. Because you do not make the project to your customers to bring better benefits, do not forget the domain name parked in the service provider where, not only tight income, but also easy to sell. If you want to do a good job in this project, I suggest you do their own products (of course there are a lot of things are similar to the network virtual product can only do) products, you can really give your customers bring more revenue, costs can be according to the volume, it is not necessary to click a quantity, when your customer gains much also, you will naturally good reputation. I don't think much of my dependence on Goodle in the latter part of the time. These are my suggestions, thank you.

Hi @hongye

Not sure if I follow your comment properly. Let me try to digest.

1. Have you actually tried our product? It might provide you a better position to give us feedback. :)

2. Giving our users the maximum return on their domain is one the main reasons why we created our product. Our service at the moment is actually COMPLETELY free. Plus, you keep EVERYTHING you earn through your sites. And by letting our users to display ANY type of advertising - I would say that's a pretty good offering in terms of maximizing the income. Of course there is more we can do here and we are constantly trying to move forward.

3. You briefly mentioned about "easy to sell" - and you're right. That's something we haven't really focused on - and that's because there is already a myriad of products out there that offer this very service. We wanted to focus on the part that we beleived that we're good at and different at. Perhaps "making it easy to sell" is something we will focus on soon.

4. I don't really know what you mean by "necessary to click a quantity" - again, right now, Dub is completely free. I strongly suggest you try us out if you're curious.

Having said that we are trying to make things easier to understand and follow. It's early day for us, so still a long way to go. :)

Hi Members,

I'm trying this out right now with:
DontSmoke.org

Had a little trouble at first since there isn't a concise guide written yet, but Kevin took the time to walk me through it and it's starting to come around.
The Site Menu is straight forward enough that even I am getting the hang of it.

I'm still tweaking it, there are some pretty cool options and I'll be going through them one by one and post back here as I progress.

All in all, so far it seem like a decent alternative for what I want to do with this domain.

Thanks for your help, Kevin.
We'll see how it goes.

Peace,
Cy

We'll definitely update the onboarding process to make things easier. :)

http://dontsmoke.org/

This morning half the images are bkackX and there is no copy / text.
Tried all three designs, same result.

Will wait to see what the problem is.
Something I've done or another glitch.

Peace,
Cy

Hi Cy,

That's a problem on our end - getting content via BuzzFeed seems to be a bit buggy. Will fix it very soon!

I have set up 5 names at DUB.io, I like the platform very well, The keyword to RSS generator brings outstanding relevant feed, Great Job Kevin and the DUB.io Team! I like all three layout choices provided very much, Design options are lacking at this time, The end result site is a tad bland, But does the job needed to monetize domain names with multiple streams of income. DUB.io is well on it's way to stardom in my opinion, As i feel pretty sure the DUB.io is working on many up and coming new features.

The fact that it is 100% Free for the time being, Allows you to use any ad publisher + Amazon and ect, All done with ease, This allowing multiple streams of income per every domain name. This sets DUB.io apart from the others.

Thanks Kevin Johnson and the DUB.io Team for your hard work, I look forward to the future with DUB.io!

I agree with .X.

They make me hopeful about my domains so I've started following this thread closely.

Pls also make suggestions to Kevin for further features. I've made a few and they are really listening and implementing asap.

A collective mind could bring in more features.

Hi @.X. and @NitroJunkie

:)

Thanks for your comments. It's still very early days for us and we are working hard to bring something different to the market. There are still lots of things we need to work on and many things we want to build. The whole domaining industry is an interesting one and also dynamic and changing always. So it will be interesting where it is headed and how we, along with others can support the industry!

Hi @Kamaldeen

I can see that you've registered, but you haven't actually added any domains or created any sites? When you login, there is a "Create a new site" button - that should get you started.

Apologies if things look a bit "complicated" - we've had a few comments on how things look a bit too "technical". It's something that we're working on, to cater for all types of users.

Anyway, happy for you to email me directly at [email protected] for any issues. PM me also if you have any problems.

I'll try to use dub.io to "build" a domain that is of current interest, since it kind of lends itself to it. Love the populating with content via keywords, and twitter integration. Let's see where it goes - it looks a lot nicer than a barebones "for sale", that's for sure.

Two things:
I am trying to edit the keywords (under 'keyword search'), but it won't let me delete or add keywords. It says "do you want to delete the feeds", I click yes, and it kinda just spins.
Also, is there a way to set global default preferences - for example, to disable the newsletter pop-up, AdSense code, or to select a favorite theme?
Not sure the AdSense is properly showing up or not, i'll look into it later
Site in question is MoochSays /com.

Thanks Kevin!
