Hi guys,

My name is Kevin, been following this forum for quite awhile, but joined because I wanted to share a news. I am a VP of product at Dub.io, which is a small tool that our team has been building for a few weeks.

We wanted to see if we can create a new (and hopefully better) domain parking tool. We've named ourselves "Dub.io" - nice and short. It works like this.

  1. Sign-up and you will get a website - to which, you can of course point your domain to. However, if you don't want to, that's ok. We will give you a Dub.io sub-domain.

  2. Once that's done, you can start "populating" the site with contents. This can come from RSS feeds, YouTube videos or just from the web articles. Dub.io takes care of automatically crawling these and inserting into your site.

  3. Each content can also be automatically tweeted to your designated Twitter account (this will usually bring more traffic and also get you some followers). You can also set up so that it's automatically posted to Blogger or Tumblr sites too.

  4. And of course, you can monetize it. Right now, we allow you to insert your own Google AdSense ads and VigLink code. The best part? You keep all the revenue generated from your sites. We don't take anything.

  5. Each site is all responsive to different screen-sizes. We try to include a variety of media types like images and related videos so contents are more engaging. Right now, we are in a "testing" phase, so everything is free! We would love for you to come and check us out and let me know if you have any questions.
Would love to discuss via this thread or if you have any questions, you can email me at hello @ dub.io

Thank you so much for your time guys.

Awesome. I'll take your feature request and put it at the top of the list. (y)

By the way, we will also release a feature to point to a domain via nameserver, so that you don't have to use CNAME (I think that was your previous feature request!)

HI @Leela

Feature for pointing to a nameserver is coming soon - not yet available! Will let you know once it's ready.

We just released the feature to point to a nameserver. This should simplify the whole domain pointing process - also updated the documentation too. Would love for you guys to check it out. @Leela @frank-germany

Thanks for your kind words. Not trying to out-do ourselves on purpose, but you can now enable your site so that you can "sell" your domain. If you go to "domain settings", you should be able to configure it so that your site will show a banner on the left hand side obvious enough which users can click. This (for now) simply opens up email or takes the user to a URL where you can start discussing the domain purchase.

We'll (obviously) make this more flexible in the future e.g. letting you be able to change the message, styles etc. But hopefully this is a start. :)

for me it would be cruical to define my own url here
as I worked a lot to make that page as good as possible

"C/ost// OfB// rexit//.com currently does not have any domain name connecting to it. Selling domain feature is only available when you are connecting your own root-level domain name to your Dub.io site. Please click on "Your own domain" tab to start using your domain for Cost// OfB// rexit//.com."

true as I use www.C/ost// OfB// rexit// .com

please check

thank you Kevin
feature works perfectly now

what I do not like is the way you display it on page

1) there is no need to show the url
http://www.domain.com

I would refer
domain.com

2) due to banner blindness
a small black banner will not get any attention is guess

@frank-germany

You're currently using a sub-domain to point to Dub.io (via CNAME), but if you point your root-level domain via pointing to our nameserver, then you can remove the www part. I will send you an email with detailed information on this.

#2, I saw your black banner and I do agree. Like I said, this is a start. We'll make this more prominent.

Hello Kevin Johnson,
I have just added a domain FrankUsher.com, changed to your nameservers and created a twitter account for the domain.
I have two problems. Once I changed the nameservers, then obviously email for the domain would no longer work on the old registrar, so how do I confirm email for my twitter account for the domain? Do I have to change nameservers back to registrar confirm email and then change back to your nameservers again or can my domain receive email on your servers, in which case I will ask twitter to resend verification email?
Second problem is I need to add a feed of Ladies Fashion and dresses, because Frank Usher is a well known fashion clothes retailer. Where do I obtain such a feed or do you have them available in various categories?
At present it is resolving as just an empty page.
Your system has found 15 relative news items and videos but I cannot find a way to add them or does that happen automatically?
I will sign into webmaster tools and verify the domain and get google analytics code etc.
Thank you for your help.

How long does it take for something to appear on the domain homepage from either the news items or videos or adverts?
When I enter FrankUsher.com in the address bar, the domain is already resolving correctly, albeit with a blank page but if you click the name Frank Usher then the subdomain appears in the address bar, when it should resolve with my domain name.
More than likely I have not entered information that I should have entered for something to appear, so what would be good for domainers is a Step by Step how to create your homepage on your system and where to obtain the feeds required etc.

@bumper

Firstly, thanks for trying out. :)

I did find a bug in our system where it wasn't searching for articles properly. Just fixed and it should start getting some contents for your site soon.

I checked out frankunsher.com about 10 minutes ago and it was taking me to a flippa sales page. I just tried again and it's not responding. So what I think is happening is that the changes you've made is still being applied. I'll give it another hour or so until everything settles down a bit.

In terms of your question in regards to nameservers and not being able to add other records - you're right. Using nameservers was an easier option than creating a CNAME, but I guess you let go of the full control of the domain in terms of creating other records.

What I need to do is to let you create an A-Record so that your domain points to Dub.io, but you can still control your domains.

Let me put that on the top of our list. It shouldn't be too difficult to get it done.

I think your site is now resolving. Will get back to you about the nameserver issue you raised soon.

Thank you for your prompt response and yes the site is resolving and showing various relevant articles.
What I would like to do is add a feed for selling fashion clothes and accessories to earn commission on leads or sales of dresses etc.
Is that possible? If so do you know where I could obtain such a feed?
I have verified domain in webmaster tools but at present it seems you can only verify one version so I have verified the version without the www.
However this means you cannot set preferred domain as non-www in webmaster tools, because to do that I would need to verify the www version in webmaster tools first and I believe your system is not yet set up to verify both versions. Maybe that is not important for parking revenue but it is important for any other live trading website.
Also, I have added the adsense advert, the vigilink and the yllix mobile advert and some categories and tags etc.
I quickly amended some of the category and tag entries, so that they were strictly for fashion clothes, because I made the mistake of adding Italian Designers and so the content included products like cars etc that are not desirable for this website.
It would be so good if I could have fashion goods and dresses displayed on the homepage.
I have been trying to sell some of my domains but if this works ok and provides an income in excess of renewal costs then best to keep them and add your websites to them, especially if I can add product feeds.
Will add my fishing domains next if I can add product feeds.

Hi @bumper

Dub.io lets you add any type of RSS feeds.

But in terms of what specific feed to add? That is totally up to you. I wouldn't have a clue where to start on obtaining fashion feeds to earn commission. :)

Let me investigate the Google Webmaster issue. Will get back to you.

@bumper

Just to let you know that if you have connected your domain do Dub.io, both "non-www" and "www" domain will work. Which means regardless of what you set up on Google Webmaster, both types of domain will resolve correctly. Hope that makes sense. Let me know if you need any further help.
