Hey all figured with the recent .io 6 figure sale and the nice .xyz sale by a follow NP member. We should open a showcase and discussion thread here.

Metaverse is a fast growing keyword, term and niche! Let's share and discuss our name and news.

I've only got One to start with but its a GOOD one my favorite ending keyword on most names.

Mark Zuckerberg Quietly Buries the Metaverse

"There will be no press release, no big announcement, as he would have to acknowledge that he was wrong.

But make no mistake: Mark Zuckerberg just buried the metaverse. The metaverse is dead.

The metaverse was supposed to be the Next Big Thing for the social-media tycoon, who in 2021 went so far as to rename his empire -- created from Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp -- as Meta Platforms . Simply put, the metaverse is an immersive virtual world in which we are supposed to interact with each other using specialized glasses and virtual-reality headsets......"
so this isn't a meta announcement, it's an announcement by someone named luc olinga. who's previous experience was covering unions and immigration in france. now he is taking it upon himself to make a worldwide announcement via yahoo that the metaverse is dead. i think i will wait for something more official.

Honestly,
I don't think that you can burry 'the metaverse' any more...

It has become too famous.

It is clear, that not so many people will use it (VR headsets).

But you cannot neglect the fact, that there is indeed a niche-group of people, that made use of VR headsets even long before facebook renamed to meta.

That group has just grown.

With all those investments into new VR headsets, that is now (maybe not fin. but) paying off in terms of new users, more interactions, A LOT better tech...

it is definitely an 'entertainment niche' that won't vanish again.

So, question now is
a) how cheap will those standard VR glasses get one day
b) will they be used in (semi) professional environments, like online meetings or surgery operations,
besides gaming & fun of course.

In the long term, I see the metaverse having its place in the entertainment world, to say at least.

It is also something, that attracts espec. young users.

And this is a group, that is there every new year.
(also 2nd hand market grows & offers a more simple entrance into this space).

Interest in new tech & gadgets just won't let the idea of the metaverse die some day...

It is a question of user experience (technology) & cost.

Metaverse does not die because metaverse is not crypto or blockchain :-D It may be early yet, but it's definitely not the end.

totally not.

if you are a VR headset owner, metaverse is right here right now for you.

As I said in my previous post, there is a big niche group using it already. Even daily.

Tell them "10 years away".

With more VR headsets on the 2nd market, and cheaper prices for good tech,
that niche group will just keep on growing.

The question is: Will it ever be a broad mainstream application?!

And most likely no.
(or then it might take 10 years).

But will it bring outrageous new HIGH tech, fitted into a slim VR headset?!

For sure.

And this is what many young people love:
New gadgets, new advanced tech, etc.

(niche) Metaverse is far from being dead at all.

It's just that many high value investors won't see the dime, they actually dreamed of... :xf.wink: :xf.laugh:

I think that you act. define the "final metaverse" as a broad mainstream application.

That is the difference to me:
I wouldn't say that it has to be, and maybe it won't ever be...

(In a way that you just by default connect to your doctor or lawyer by VR glasses).

An employer has the ability to choose, whether he integrates VR into his company or not (makes it mandatory).

But besides all this, there is a large niche community that likes to use VR for their entertainment purposes, chatting, meeting, gaming etc.

This act. is the metaverse.
And maybe it will never get bigger than that -
prices will show.

I think AR will be used a lot for the metaverse

Actually this is a wrong conception.

AR is not metaverse.

Metaverse is fully immersive, so 'Virtual Reality'.

AR is augmented reality, which projects things into the real world and makes them visible for your eyes.

(The opposite to virtual world).

However, you could make the argument that everything is interconnected with each other,
and that things you see & use in AR are managed by the same instances / apps / servers,
as VR.

You are wrong, let me explain to you and others what is Metaverse, note I not watch youtube videos I listen to music only, i was fixing Apple devices and have teach many people in different countries how to do it, now they are big gurus in the field and popular on youtube, they were thinking that I m Apple technician, but i m not, I m just good at tech, considering also that i have no diplomas, this is in my Genetics.

So let's dive in on this Metaverse thing, first of all AR/XR/VR/MR/Holo is just the technology for Metaverse, but metaverse itself is a virtual reality no matter what tech you use to connect with it, you can use even your PC and mobile, because the internet we use everyday is already some kind of 2D Metaverse, I see Metaverse in the future as this.

1. everyone will have a chip id in their body as a wallet and identity certificate, of course first it will be outside your body in some gadget.
2. the main tech will be AR because Metaverse will have to be interconnected with your everyday reality and the one in the Metaverse, it can't be otherwise. This is also because I said in other topic that AR is most important acronym in the world, there is a reason why i say that.
3. the glasses will have to be able to offer AR/VR/XR or other mentioned tech.
4. your real life will be interconnected/entangled with your virtual copy in the Metaverse.

That is why the Metaverse at the moment is in it's diapers state.
P.s. if someone will make Youtube videos based on this not forget to credit me, i have seen many such lazy grabbers looking for info!
P.s.s. there are only 3 basic realities and I know their true names, AR/VR/XR etc is part of the 3rd one.

My country is the most poor in Europe continent, I doubt it will come here soon, we got mobile phones only at the end of 1999, you can see that first chips are tested in US first then rolled to all the other countries.
Every country will have to implement the Chip ID where is structure and centralization, only if you live in the Jungle maybe it will not touch you.

The Metaverse movement hasn't even started yet. How do you just end it?

If you knew what is already planned for our future behind closed doors, and what kind of world we will open our eyes to, you would be lost for words!

But make no mistake: Mark Zuckerberg just buried the metaverse. The metaverse is dead.
This couldn't be further from the truth. I'm stating my opinion only.

To oversimplify:

Metaverse is immerse virtual world, that I agree with. It may be a new concept or an old concept with a new catchy term. Who cares. It's here to stay, and it is the future. Think of your favorite sci-fi movies (Blade Runner, Minority Report, Matrix, Ready Player One, Total Recall, Avatar, etc). They already predicted the future.

Beyond that, everything else is just how Metaverse can be implemented. Now, and in the future.
1) Platform - AR/XR/VR/MR/insert xxxxR --- who cares? I don't get why all the debate about which term is proper. They all promote the Metaverse.
2) Hardware - glasses, headsets, etc --- who cares? sure they may be clunky now. That's say like saying portable audio is dead since Sony Walkman is clunky, then came iPods and wow! Portable audio is alive! Hardware and technologies always improve over time.

Metaverse is here to stay, we're only at the beginning. One breakthrough and it'll be the next best thing since sliced bread. The article will be revised "Metaverse, It's back from the dead!"

Interesting read, more at the link.

The metaverse, the virtual world that was the hot thing in tech less than two years ago, is facing a harsher reality.

Walt Disney Co. has shut down the division that was developing its metaverse strategies, The Wall Street Journal reported this week. Microsoft Corp. recently shut down a social virtual-reality platform it acquired in 2017. And Mark Zuckerberg, who renamed Facebook as Meta Platforms Inc. META 1.97%increase; green up pointing triangle

to signal his seriousness about the metaverse, focused more on artificial intelligence on an earnings call last month.

Meanwhile, the price for virtual real estate in some online worlds, where users can hang out as avatars, has cratered. The median sale price for land in Decentraland has declined almost 90% from a year ago, according to WeMeta, a site that tracks land sales in the metaverse.

The Metaverse Is Quickly Turning Into the Meh-taverse
