Just received this email from Dan.com about commission increases (snippet of email):

Can you email me - [email protected] with the domain(s) you've tested this with?
Sedo Mls has almost exactly the same registrars as afternic excluding goddady ( for afternic) and namecheap (for sedo). So using Sedo mls you are paying a 10% commission and if you list your domains 25% higher at afternic, they will be listed at godaddy as well and your domain will be on most registrars path as well. This should be the best option as I see it.Bodis and Sedo are other options... I've had decent success with both. But under $5k, seems like it may be 15%, so smaller sales may stay with GD
10% on sedo is only for lander's sales.Sedo Mls has almost exactly the same registrars as afternic excluding goddady ( for afternic) and namecheap (for sedo). By the way there are many other bad things in Afternic BIN landers, here are few:
1- No camel case for domain names:
Why I can't show MyDomainName.com instead of mydomainname? Is it so hard to implement?
2- Search field shows up at checkout (bad)
Show attachment 229784
3- Suggested cheap Alternative at checkout
Show attachment 229785
So before you ask us to use your landers or else we pay 25% please first fix your landers and make them worth it.
And regarding DAN, for me it is now less desirable option because I will now Pay 15% + 21% VAT (EU) so I will pay 18.2% for just pointing my traffic to a landing page and using your escrow service!!
These are all issues I have brought up in the past, among others.By the way there are many other bad things in Afternic BIN landers, here are few:

You are right, so the option will be to use sedo landers and standard listings at afternic fast transfer, for prices 25% higher, so you keep the low commission for landers and use the registrars path as well, including afternic, godaddy. Namecheap new project could be a good option, after we will get the final details.10% on sedo is only for lander's sales.
Yeah, though I would not expect that to last.Is this 5% fee still valid? Or not?
Bring your own lead
Brought your own lead? In that case, we only charge a fixed 5% fee per sale
depends the % of sales made on afternic. You are right, so the option will be to use sedo landers and listings at afternic fast transfer, for 25% higher, so like this keep the low commission for landers and use the registrars path as well, including afternic, godaddy. Afternic and godaddy never worked properly for me, maybe it's because 90% of my buyers are from Europe. Lots of low offers and late payments.depends the % of sales made on afternic.
If you sell more from afternic than for landers the best is dan or afternic landers...
If not it could be better to use a third part for landers (sedo or daaz maybe) + godaddy auctions + sedo mls
I bet guys from godaddy / dan are reading this now...
guessing, what they might do.
Do you show a BIN price + Make Offer? Or just Make Offer? Or ??Dan recieved over 600 organic traffic from my domains in the past 4 days. All my offers were from organic inbounds.
Do you show a BIN price + Make Offer? Or just Make Offer? Or ??
now that you got done speaking from emotion, please calm down and think about reality. Almost all sales being reported on here are made ad afternic and after that dan.If something works for you don't talk as this will happen to everybody. I didn't sold a domainin the last 2 years at godaddy and 1 year at afternic, but I've sold tens of domains a year in the meantime. 90% of european end users don't care about godaddy and I will think is somewhat the same in most countries, excluding 4-5 of them. Do you really think that a buyer from China thinks about godaddy when buys a domain. Domainers can raise the prices at godaddy/ afternic/dan and keep low prices to their own landers or at sedo/efty and others. Also, you can use make offer at godaddy family, to make sure that you are getting higher prices.
I don't think it's as bad as it seems. With regards to lander exclusivity, I think it harms only those who make money from parking?
In our era of skyrocketing online scams, GoDaddy offers trust and trust is expensive.
Suppose I point my domains to Afternic nameservers but it sold on the their network, so the commission will be 25% instead 15%?
It's not emotion, when you sell more through paypal, sedo, escrow, dan, (landers) compared with afternic/godaddy, that's not emotion, that's reality. Do you have an idea what % of the total are the namepros reports? We are not even talking about afternic fan boys, reporting just to pump afternic numbers. A better view of reality will be to check the afternic turnover at the end of the year and compare them to sedo, dan or others and you will be surprised. Again, between casual reports and reality is a big difference.now that you got done speaking from emotion, please calm down and think about reality. Almost all sales being reported on here are made ad afternic and after that dan.
If I have a choice between charging more for domains to compensate for the fee increase, or removing my names from AN, I choose to up the price.
Everything that points to a GoDaddy nameserver (Afternic, DAN, Uniregistry, etc) qualifies for the 15% flat commission, regardless of how the sale is made (directly from the lander, via the distribution network, doesn't matter).
The 25% commission is only for domains that are listed on Afternic or DAN but have nameservers pointed to something unrelated to GoDaddy.
