Recently sold Block-Chain.com and I am amused about people thinking that Block Chain is one word

It never was one word
It is just habit or laziness

BlockChain originally Block Chain are 2 words

A blockchain,[1][2][3] originally block chain,[4][5] is a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, which are linked and secured using cryptography.[1][6] Each block typically contains a cryptographic hash of the previous block,[6] a timestamp and transaction data.[7]By design, a blockchain is inherently resistant to modification of the data. It is "an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way".[8] For use as a distributed ledger, a blockchain is typically managed by a peer-to-peer network collectively adhering to a protocol for inter-node communication and validating new blocks. Once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without the alteration of all subsequent blocks, which requires collusion of the network majority.

It is called the etymology of a word.

Alphabet was coined from Alpha and Beta. Today Alphabet is one word.

Facebook was coined from Face and book. Today it's one word.

Just because the origin of a word is coined from 2 separate words, doesn't mean the usage doesn't change. It's similar to how using the word Gay to describe how happy you are is now weird, simply because the usage has changed.

Long and short of it, is that words and languages change over time. Adapting to that change is not laziness. It's why dictionaries are updated frequently.

If you consider that laziness, we might as well stick to the Greek and Latin words which are the original of most of the English we use now.

On that note, I can say that NamePros is one word coined from two.
Who decided this ❓

It is two words. For example in .com extension "chain dot com" would be a higher value than "blockchain dot com". Both, are super high value!

It’s 2. All words are made up. How do you think language came about anyway? The apple said to the neanderthal: I am to be called an apple? It’s an everchanging puzzle with common basic rules. Words and compound words come to existence and disappear all the time. The driver of change is usage, which is driven by demand.

Usage determines ”correctness”. It would be very hard to argue that something is correct because it used to be.

Is it teapot or tea pot? It depends on how old you are.

Trolling at the highest level lol.
I gave you proof that Google considers blockchain as a single word.

I also learned something from the trolling if that’s what it is. In swedish, my native tongue, you can put 2 or 3 words together and it is a new word per se. Even if it is not widely used. If a bird watcher was eating a sandwich, it would not be wrong to call that sandwich a ”birdwatchersandwich”. That would be a word. The rule is that words are not splitted up when writing. If they are, things can get semantically very confusing.

The rule in english is somewhat the opposite, even though I think the trend on this is changing, probably a bit because of the nature of domain names and loan word influence.

Nevertheless. Bitcoin is a word.

Who cares? Inventors at CERN came up with the touchscreen. 1 or 2 words? Same principle.

Are you still on this matter! Is there any other things you want to benefit from this unnecessary argumentation. Why not leave this alone and use your valuable time to find other things doing.

I think mode should close this thread for once and for all

You don’t see the opportunities here ... 🤡

I 'm talking of the over exaggerations. The opportunity here is not as valuable as you are taking it.
It is

Block-Chain.com sold for 1 million
Domain-Names.com sold for more than 200.000

🤣

If you are now changing the point of your argument; fine. But you were talking on one word or two words domains.
Yap! you can talk about sales and the type of the domains; I would love to hear about that, but the price can not be reversed; However, we can learn from the sales and see on how to make up the opportunities by reviewing the types of the names and get something out of it.

Cheers

It’s about Education
You started this

Block Chain = Original
Blockchain = made up

Actually, you started it. Many others corrected you.
There's plenty of resources out there for you to educate yourself on made up / fictitious (lmao) compound words.

Be that horse, not a Don Key.
