Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

No absolutely, but from what little I know of any great seller, they wouldn't like missing the mark so widely and leaving so much on the table. Oh well, we'll see in in 2-3 years if I was right or if I'm living in a fantasy world. As you say good ROI is all that matters. Congrats to everyone who has made a VR sale in the last year.

As a newbie seller myself, I'll probably make a hell of a lot more questionable judgements.

I'm sure you will have some great sales in the coming years as you are sitting on some great VR domains :)

Thanks I'm sure we all will do well eventually and look back at 2015-2016 thinking we should have bought more, even though most of us have probably overspent a fair bit.

I always knew VRTalk was sold too cheaply. FX said at the time he was extracting money like a day trader, but mark my words that's a minimum $60K sale in 2-3 years.

It's like selling a LLL .com for $5K, would you do it? hell no.

But you can't critique the guy too much, he is a top salesman from what I've seen.

It's just a shame, cause I know a name like that will sell for much more relatively soon.

I've been in the game for 20 years I know when to sell and when not too.

I bought the said domain so cheap and sold in a few days... took the ROI... built the $ up and purchased a lll.com

... I keep hearing 2/3 years .. Hold hold hold its coming ....had I listened to that I would've still been sitting on a couple hundred Chinese Chips (bought at buyout 2007) instead while everyone was saying hold I sold at a average of $2500 each while the market was hot... Now it's dead.

A few of us know about the 3D niche same story hold hold hold then the whole niche/tech collapsed (bar 3Dprint)

If VRTalk sells for 1mill or 20 Mill I'm happy for the owner.. I've been given so much in life that I'm happy to see someone else have a little happiness too.

Cheers

The pump and dump that happened for "Chinese CHIPs" is not really a comparison to the VR market in my opinion. CHIPs are just collectables with most having very little end user demand. It was definitely going to end that way. I even called it in November 2015:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/pump-dump-domains.891941/

I'm currency/crypto trader so I could sense what was happening with domains, but as I'm new to domaining, I wasn't sure.

The quality VR names we have here in this thread are hopefully all going to end users. That's why this market won't fall flat. Will there be bubbles? Yes certainly. PSVR, touch controllers, new headsets, new hardware, new games, will all generate news which will pump prices and what must go up, must come down. But my belief is higher quality names will hold their value regardless of fluctuations in prices. Not only will they hold their value, they will increase in value as demand increases for the next 5 years.

You have 20 years of selling experience and as one of the best sellers on NamePros, you are going to be laughing the way to the bank for the next 5 years.

However purely from a observational standpoint, as I said before I believe the buyer got a great deal. The reason for this is $5K is something I would have put down if I wasn't eyeing up the other domains with bigger resale values.

So yeah nothing personal congrats for the sale and I hope there's many more sales for everyone.

Just registered VRehab.org
.com and .net gone, but I believe VR rehabilitation has a large specter of possible applications, and there are lot of rehab dot org sites. Check the youtube for "vr rehab" and you can see - the future is actually here right now.

I posted the Washington Post interview link with Tim Cook here but it's moved to the AR thread.

I don't know why it's moved because the question was If he believes in AR and/or VR.

It's pretty important for the members in the VR thread to know about Apple's future plans don't you think?

Now that he confirmed Apple is focussing on AR in the core, how will this change the VR domain business we are in?

Its AR news hardly as apple didnt really say anything besides teasing.

Need to Wait 3 more weeks to know more.

When I first started buying VR names, I just did it with view to spending around £1000 with view to try make a bit of profit, was going to invest a bit in the stock market but thought of doing it this way instead (just seemed a bit more fun).

Then I started investing in the aftermarket and when you start investing in the aftermarket and investing 4 figures on 1 name (I’ve done that a few times), I won’t lie, you always hope you can have a potential big one if you hold for a years, same time I’m a realist though and know it’s going to be hard.

After investing in the aftermarket too, I can never hand reg a domain again - Infact I’m thinking about getting rid of most of my handregs, not because I think they are bad, it’s just handreg’s just aren’t comparable premium names you can pick up in the aftermarket and when you look at your aftermarket buys, you always want to better yourself and get better names than your previous buy, not poorer quality.

I'm sure i sound snobbish saying that

But yeah I’m sure others who's invested a lot in the aftermarket know where I’m coming from with it.
