I believe only short and easy-to-remember domain names are sustainable, regardless of where in the world you live and which cultural background you come from.

Now that the Chinese domain market has become a hot topic, I myself want to understand this trend too. Is there any real meaning behind each domain name sold in China? Here, I'd like to share with you what I've found as I read the Chinese news everyday.

GZX.com
GZX can stand for 更自信 (even more self-confident) which can be used in many fields such as education, self-help, and even consumer products to raise your self image.

XLY.com
XLY can stand for 夏令营 (summer camp) or 新领域 (new field) which can be used in recreation and high-tech products.

no no. I DO LIKE IT. you got me wrong. I'm HOPING that China heads in the direction that it forces companies to have Chinese character domains. because I own a ton of them. and great keywords too.

This is what i found on the web about XYZ;

" In China specifically, XYZ is an acronym for the phrase “Xiǎoyǔzhòu,” which translates into “little universe” — a great encapsulation of what the open, global internet is "

1/ 888.com would be very good. Is there a number of 8s that works well?
888 is probably the maximum as Chinese like to repeat the same word three times.

Do you know if Teng Chieh is a big holiday in China?
Interesting. I could find the origin of Teng Chieh spelling. It is not Pinyin. It looks like the spelling is of South East Asian. Anyway, it refers to 盂蘭節 (Yu Lan Jie or Ghost Festival). Read the details here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Festival

Xxyz.co

are there any historical data on big sales .co to merit that investment? it's short. I saw zync.co thee other day on expirations don't know if it's still available. It was for only $9. very brandable. didn't take it because .co is just too risky for me. .net is as far as I'll go with other tld's

@ Kassey

many thanks !

In " 5240 " the number " 4 " (sì = death ) is a very POSSITIVE one ! Also the " 0 " (líng ) adds possitive value to the number combination. Great !!
A while ago " 5240 " was on my dropping list because of all the negativity about "4's " and "0's ".

Kassey, you've saved my "5240 " domain but i ain't gonna say to you, " Kassey 5240 " LOL !!!!

Hi Kassey. I read your blog on the work you've done and are doing to figure out the meaning of Chinese domain names. Thank you for sharing your process.

I recently picked up a domain name as an expired domain. I liked the sound and it was short. Prior to expiring it had been registered to a Chinese company since 2008. The domain name is joypu/.com It seems the company or business also had or has joypu/.cn. I tried to find out what it means, but I didn't get anywhere and put it aside until I saw your post. Could you tell me what it means? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hmm the "investment" was less than $5 so its called gambling IMO.

Besides its a 4l chip domain with xxyz how bad can it be compared to others even though a dot co.

Your .net has decent value with all those 8's! Not sure what but don't sell it for too cheap imo

Hi Kasey,

I had several offers on my QTWW.net at $1k - $1.2k USD. I know the floor CHIP price for LLLL.net is around $200 - $300?

Does it have a specific meaning I don't know about?

Thanks,
Jason NZL

Very useful. Thanks.

The domain name is joypu/.com It s
What does / stand for? This is a English + Pinyin pattern. I've seen quite a few names fashioned in this way. For , example, XiamenAir.com is an airline.
PU:>General

I had several offers on my QTWW.net
QTWW:前途旺旺>Prosperous future

QTWW:前途旺旺>Prosperous future[/QUOTE]
Thanks Kassey, it all makes sense why I have been getting offers over the past couple of months leading into the Chinese New Year for QTWW.net. I was a CHIP that stood out for me and I got it before the CHIP boom.

I also own 9988877.com I picked it up last year before the numerics boom and get frequent offer spam. Does it have any good meaning? I liked it because of the consecutive number drop 99 888 77 and that its memorable. IMO

Thanks,
Jason NZL
