I have tried to stay away from this as I had always hoped that this would resolve soon. I sincerely hoped Adam would do everything right to repair the damaged reputation. This has indeed taken an unexpected turn.

My advise to you is file a compliant and get your money back from Adam. He made you the same promises he made everyone else and no.... you won't get paid ahead of everyone else for standing at his side.
