This story starts with DNF; a barren wasteland that once was a leading forum within the domain industry. While the forum itself played a huge role in propagating the myth that is Adam Dicker, the story really begins with DNF College in the summer of 2011.

These are in no particular order.

From what I understand, Adam still owes north of $33,000 to previous customers and business partners. As I receive more information, I will update this figure.

He clearly has time to view your linkedin profile, why doesn't he have time to click a button and refund paypal payments?

To be honest, I fear retribution a little bit, which would be a shame if it happened as I've had the decency to post without hiding my identity and have actively discouraged people from contacting his family. The signal to get Dicker to check me out seems to be me stating my belief that he won't pay as promised today, and we'll have to wait and see whether I'm right or wrong on that.

If he doesn't pay this Friday - well there is always next Friday......and the next....

I am seeing lots of collateral damage here though - this thread is about getting AD to make things right with those he owes, correct? Why are all those other people being mentioned if there is no evidence that they have slighted anyone in any way?

Only George & Acroplex have been mentioned as possible partners in Adams schemes because sometimes our minds have a way of connecting dots that aren't as solid as we think. All of us have limited knowledge about what's going on behind the scenes and how Adam's schemes are run so we try to connect pieces and make them fit together. We are being sleuthers. I think many of us felt as if Adam couldn't of acted alone in this scheme in the beginning but I guess he really did.

Adam has no case legally against any of us IMO. No one has made extremely wild slanderous accusations. If anything he's the one that should be fearing his livelihood being taken away from him. Too many skeletons have been brought out of his closet on here so he's going to try to deflect naturally because he feels hurt.

More likely he now has no income and living costs to cover, his domains the only thing he has left to sell for an income. Or needs the money to start a new business (which would have to be run anonymously or offline).

Wait, Dicker is a genius with the awards to prove it. He already has his next gig lined up.

Please welcome Adam Dicker, CEO of the next FIFA Domaining World Cup
, to be held in Belize in April 2016. All the big names in the domain world have signed up to attend, and there will be prizes for all.

Parties interested in hosting the 2017 competition should please post sealed bids to [email protected]. Bids under $500,000 will be rejected and those bidders private details will be published on the internet. Bitcoin preferred.

Wow, let's just hope it doesn't go to penalty kicks.

Adam Dicker just viewed my linkedin profile, so he's awake. I should probably be worried, lets face it, this probably means he thinks I've crossed the line.

No it means he's doing his research to haggle with you for those .info domains you are selling so cheap on NP this week. He'd also prefer to pay next Friday if that's ok with you.

That's the last thing you should be worried about honestly. So far this has been kept controlled (Sort of speak) in forums and blogs but the truth is that the last thing Adam wants is for this be featured on the 6 o'clock news.
Consider ALL the people Adam has dealings with over these years faces when their association with him are questioned and back door dealings with him are made public for all to watch.
In my opinion is he only has 2 options
1. Pay up, save face and lay low.
2. Don't pay and burn everyone who ever he dealt with him in ANY shape or form.

Can this happen? I guess 12 pm Midnight today will give us the answer.

P.s "Retribution" on ANY of the victims could make someone make that call to the right authorities/media outlet.

there was no trading on insider information nor was there a scheme to bid up auction prices.

And you know that how?

You're trying to tell us that, just because Godaddy said so, the VP in charge of TDNAM auctions had no information over and above the information available to normal cutomers (outside bidders) in any particular TDNAM auction? That's the balloon you're floating here? If the VP in charge of TDNAM auctions had no "insider information," how in the world could he do his job? How could he fix glitches? How could he deal with fraudulent and shill bidders? How could he handle the proxy bid policy? How could he demonstrate policy and techniques to subordinate employees? A person in charge of any auction cannot handle those issues without, as you characterize it, "inside information." But if you want to proffer nonsense here, contributing to the prevailing wisdom by major players that we here are a bunch of idiots, go ahead. You're not fooling anyone.

Why are all those other people being mentioned if there is no evidence that they have slighted anyone in any way?

Because at least one is offering websites for sale which in fact come from Adam Dicker - the pay link for them takes you to AD's Paypal. See a few pages back in the thread. In other words, having shut down nichewebsites.com AD may continue doing the same thing through intermediaries and associates.

But we know from his Udemy course listing quoted earlier that he has plans to establish a new industry: accredited domain broker.

The Udemy listing claims that there is an acute shortage of domain brokers and that it pays extremely well. Seriously, this may be the big scheme we were told to expect from Adam Dicker. Probably you would pay him $x,xxxx for training and accreditation, then say $50k for a brokerage franchise. When after six months you have made no money, he helpfully tells you that you need specialised SEO for 5k, after a year you need a new website... This would set new standards for the industry.

I don't but neither do you and that is my point. Why do you believe you have special insights in the story? I did say that it is possible that there are "secrets" we don't know about. OK. I am allowing for the possibility. I don't consider these to be fact however unless i see them these are speculations or personal guesses. And you can make them if you want. But it shoudn't upset you if others don't accept them as facts.

Everyone knows about he Snapnames scandal. Strangely the first time i heard about the TDNAM scandal was in this thread.

prevailing wisdom by major players that we here are a bunch of idiots

Again this seems to be a personal opinion, who are the "major players" who said this?

Schlling came forward and stated that he wasn't paid.

My guess is that the "major players" whoever they might be, are not happy about this, or are too embarassed to talk about it as it does harm the image of the domaining industry in general.

Perhaps some of them don't care or are too busy making money to follow this.

Perhaps there are some on the sidelines waiting to see how this unfolds. I don't know if they think we are idiots. I have no idea honestly neither do i care.

I guess when you're doing it like how Adam does it, it can pay well if people are willing to pay you 20% to broker their domains and 5% of that amount must be paid upfront before your domain is even offered for sale.

https://adamdicker.com/domain-brokerage/

"The offers we get are presented to you as seller. The brokerage fee is 20% of the sale."

"As of July 1st 2015 we will be charging a brokerage fee of 5% of the reserved price upfront when accepting a domain."

Does anyone else in this industry want a upfront fee to broker domains? That's stupid. Legit brokers only charge a performance based commission.

.

He also charges 20% as a broker on domainnamesales.com. What on earth are they doing giving him access to client and seller data? And anyone dealing with him now as a broker will google his name and run a mile.

Maybe he changed it because he knew he would have to make some restitution in October? ;)
Based on what I have read here - he is the last guy I would trust with even a nickle of mine. There are broker services that have pristine reputations.

Bro,

Nobody, amd I mean Nobody wants this to hit the mainstream media.
The general perception of this industry is already bad enough.
Something like this breaks and people start calling for "regulation", which could mean anything. The possible repercussions could deflate the entire system on which domainers do business.

I understand that most of the complaints here are related to the biulding of websites, but the general public sees Internet / Domains / Websites as one package, one entity, something they dont really have a grasp of and if one part is crooked, then why isnt some governing agency looking into all of this?

And again, I'm sure we'll all agree, Nobody wants that, do they?

jmo

Peace,
Cy

I'm not sure Dicker cares about the good of the industry.

Anyway, he probably reckons he can write his own Get Out Of Jail Free card - a UK domain conman succeeded in doing exactly that already lol

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/con-man-creates-fake-website-prison-emails-his-way-freedom-n332901

Using a cellphone, which prisoners aren't allowed to have, Moore used an Internet domain registration service to create a fake Web address closely resembling that of Britain's Royal Courts of Justice, Paton told the court, according to the BBC and Britain's Press Association. Once he had the email account, Moore posed as a court clerk and sent an email telling Wandsworth managers that he'd been granted bail.

Cy,
Perhaps I didn't focus my post enough and for that my apologies. So here it is straight up.
Pug mentioned to he feared retribution from Adam. He is not alone in fear, there are several who are concerned after coming forward with their story.

I contacted Adam several days ago when he posted someone's full name here after they posted their experience with Adam.
I asked Adam in PM can you please edit out their name. After a reply or two between each other I explained to Adam that my one and only goal here is to make sure no "Retribution" will follow these people asking for refunds. His reply was "NOT YET". Any mod can verify the PM.

I have no financial gain or loss here, but I will not stand idle while there are people in need or fear due to the criminal actions of one person's sick greed... I'll do what I must, I have no fear, I have nothing to loose.

You mentioned "Regulation" .
Everyone here is being regulated already... By thieves liars and fake industry icons. So either way bro we're effed.

He has a list of people who require refunds. He has contacted them for information to send payment. Will update when I know more.

And I was so happy with your first statement. No payments then... Huge disappointment. I guess @Pug Domains was right :)
