This story starts with DNF; a barren wasteland that once was a leading forum within the domain industry. While the forum itself played a huge role in propagating the myth that is Adam Dicker, the story really begins with DNF College in the summer of 2011.

These are in no particular order.

From what I understand, Adam still owes north of $33,000 to previous customers and business partners. As I receive more information, I will update this figure.

as that is not enough reason to distroy someone
who has done a lot of good things to this industrie

And this is coming from a German, haven't you learnt already with Volkswagen that the truth will always come out eventually and that there is a price to pay for deception?

I did not defend Adam
I hate he didn't care about keeping his promisises in time

but whenever you agree on a delay
thats the new agreement

I have spend useless money with him too

But I am not a victim

its my fault as well
I wanted to gain
that has not happend

I would have be the one who profited
when it would have succeeded

would I have shared that wouldbe profit? no

if 2 person are involved both have an impact on the outcome

didn't work -
so what
whats next?

I just you tell you,
there are other options
then distruction

as that is not enough reason to distroy someone
who has done a lot of good things to this industrie

he has grown the audience a lot within the last year

to whom are you selling your domains?
to other domainers?

who is going to register domains ?
new domainers need it

when shortage arises - value goes up

your portfolio value will grow
some of it because of adam

Tell that to everyone who has been wronged by a "good, famous, helpful, <add whatever nice adjective you want here>" person.

The list would be far too long to print.

He's not a victim. BINGO! I dont own a Volkswagen but I dont need to in order to feel bad for the victims.

It's not deception, eventually Volkswagen was going to be be as fuel efficient as they claimed. You just have to wait till they kept their sticker promise :)

Huh? So when someone gives Adam money and they don't get anything in return even after chasing him for months, you're saying they should talk to a lawyer first to find out if they've been ripped off? Seriously?

no

that is not what I have said

I said do due diligence about your options

no distruction but construction

When you're in the right, public shaming is an option if your requests for refunds go unanswered for weeks, months, longer!

Its not going to work. You're not going to put any polish on his reputation.

Some of us suspect there are Dickerbots on here to derail discussion. Now assuming they ever get paid, do you think they get paid per post or per response generated? There seems to be something of a theme of how much Dicker contributed to this industry - if someone feels deep personal gratitude maybe they should set up a fan site with a nice domain?

Also let's not be too harsh on the victims - we want them to be confident to ask for the compensation they deserve and know they have support here. People can be very ashamed of mistakes and losing money and that can keep them quiet.

read the post about chargeback options by pug

I said that SOME people MAY have that option. I can categorically state that some do not, because their bank will tell them that it has past 120 days due to being strung along Adam Dicker.

Even if a victim did find that route a viable option, do you think it is acceptable that things have to get that far?

Also, are you aware that if a bank gets a large number of chargeback requests they will review and possibly close the account, and may even start fraud investigations of their own?

Don't be kidding yourself that chargeback is a route which will be easier or more pleasant for Adam Dicker or "the industry", some banks will charge the refunding party (Adam Dicker) as much as $200 in fees for the chargeback.

As a German you will know that diplomacy and tip toeing didn't work for Neville Chamberlain, we had to get rid of him and bring in Winston Churchill who had the bottle to take incisive action.

The mere fact that you would seem to prefer that victims remained hush hush, settled it in private, never WARN anyone else, scares me. You do realize if what were to happen was how your post would like it to have happened, the PROBLEM would still be there. You're OK with that?

that is a complex question
as to keep the proportions is not an easy task
but I would prefer to try

anonymos post to call the FBI
-come on - a victim whinig? no
destruction approaching.

asking for a refund is a good idea
and simply initiating a chargeback is a good idea

a private warning to the cause of your misery maybe a fair trade

this thread was initiated and heated by people who are not involved
does this not feel somehome strange to you?

I think you may have a small mind.

Yes, both good ideas.

What happens when he refuses a refund, and strings you along past the chargeback deadline, what is the next good idea?

would you wait 120 days if somebody fooled you?

I would either take it as a lesson and forget it
or get this guy much faster -much much faster

Possibly, if the man was highly skilled at getting people to trust him, which is a trait that all skilled conmen have, they are "confidence men".

If Bernie Madoff can dupe highly educated wealthy people and even charitable foundations and hedge funds out of $65bn, then anything is possible.

Not everybody knows what a "chargeback" is though, I didn't until I started an ebay business. That's why I told people what a chargeback is in this thread, not for you to effectively use it to imply that the victims are dumb, which falls comfortably into "victim blaming" territory.

Don't understimate the damage that you could be doing to yourself here by blindly defending Adam Dicker, by the way, I'd certainly be wary of doing business with somebody who is displaying a lack of basic business ethics and a penchant for trying to defend the indefensible.

Here's a good rule of thumb. When people get ripped off, they get angry. They don't typically stop to think "how can I get my money back in a way that does the least harm to the person that just cheated me". Possibly, you do that, but most people don't.

It's also worth remembering that this thread isn't just doing harm to Adam, it's also serving the public good. People who read this thread will know to avoid doing business with him thereby sparing them lost money and aggravation. To me, that's more important than protecting Adam's reputation which, it seems, everyone here besides you seems to understand was destroyed by Adam himself.

I'm going to assume you're not a native English speaker and you don't mean the stuff you're saying, well at least in the context it is being presented.

At least I hope this is the case.

Excellent!.... This thread went from trying to help individuals who were victimized by a obvious fraudster to comparing Volkswagens to a Dick-er.
