US.TV was sold by an investor this week.
US.TV Has Been Sold!

After many years of owning the domain name US.TV, domain investor @GoneWalkabout has acquiesced to a sale and has reported as many details as possible. According to the seller, US.TV was sold after long negotiations that were aided by @donnied79 who made headlines in 2015 by selling USA.TV for $125,000.

The same investor that sold US.TV has also revealed another two-letter .TV sale in the form of ED.TV. Again, no details were given, but we hope that the seller was very happy with both sales!

I Bought a Domain on Friday for $600, and Received a $5,000 Offer on Saturday

This is one impressive potential return on investment! After buying a domain name for $600 on Friday, this investor received a $1,000 offer the next day. After rejecting the offer, the potential buyer came back with a $5,000 offer, which was again rejected.

That would have been a 733.33% return on investment within twenty-four hours, but was the investor right to reject that? What would you have done in this situation?

How Do You Define a Good Domain Name?

An excellent question has been asked to the community this week: how do you define a good domain name? It's a difficult question to answer, since different investors in different niches may have varying definitions of what a good domain name is.

How would you answer this question? How do you identify a good domain name?

I Sold a One-Word .SHOP Domain For $10,000

Another big sale has been revealed this week, in the form of this one-word .SHOP domain that sold for $10,000. According to the seller, the name was acquired in a private auction for just $26 on the day that the .SHOP extension was publicly released.

The seller has told the community that once the domain name has cleared Escrow, they will reveal the name. According to NameBio, this will be the largest .SHOP domain sale, once all details have been made public.

What's Your Best Example of an Outbound Sales Letter?

When it's done correctly, outbound domain sales can keep a regular cash flow going if you have very few successful inbound enquiries. However, getting a sales pitch right can be difficult and can often take a lot of trial and error to succeed.

A domain investor has published what they think is a good outbound marketing email, and has asked other investors to critique. If you regularly practice outbound sales, this may be of interest to you.
