So, I pretty much finished my registering .mobi names for myself months ago. However, I believe more strongly in the extension now than ever. My question is, do you think it would be wise for me to have some close friends and family reg some .mobi name based on my recomendations?

There are not a lot of names left that are obvious regs, but there are a few decent names with around 10 - 20k OVT that are applicable to the extension.

What do you think? Should I tell them to go for it?

I say no, so I can grab a few more

If you feel it is warranted and they are willing it couldn't hurt.

Domaining is generally not for the casual investor. There's a lot of nuances that are real hassles -- from maintenance to the final sale. If you mention to your friends that you know of promising regs, leave it to them to show additional interest.

all depends on how much money they have to play with...I think the chances of a good reg now are almost 0...if they can, I'd advise them to pay $100-$300 for a decent name in aftermarket...imho

if they only have $15 then try your best for a hand reg...

I say, IMHO.....for any more regs that have development plans, "protect the .mobi's that you own, and reg'em". I just bought a bunch but for protection purposes only for my development plans. Or Buy names on the aftermarket and choose a great name you plan on developing.

Sorry for the edit: Its Saturday night and had some drinks (but brain waves are flowing), But for the recomdation of friends and family, I say no, unless they plan on developing them.

:)

then eveyone will say "hey nice mobis.. wish I knew about it also back then like you.."

The way I see it.. you can't NOT tell them..
