Hello guys

Can anyone tell me if the revenue of a hand registered domain increase as it gets older? So, if I registered a domain on Aug 2007, would its revenue increase after Aug 2008 even if its just parking? If the revenue increases, what would be the reason for this besides its age factor.

Another causes for increased revenue could be:

- increased pay per click due to increase in competition
- increased traffic due to general increase of Internet population

Not to mention the rise in SEO for the names as long as there is new, relevant content. That would definitely account for rise in awareness of the name and subsequent clicks.

It all depends if the hand reg had any typein traffic or not. If yes, the revenue may increase if PPC rates increase in the next year, or if the click through rate increases due to better optimization of ads served.

If there's no typeins whatsoever, the only way revenue will increase is if you can get traffic to it first. By parking or using a service like 1plus.net, your domain's landing page may get indexed by the SEs and over time, possibly generate some traffic from the search engines.

It's very possible that a domain you buy today will get increased revenue with time.

There are a lot of factors that could reduce revenue as well.

I don't think that you should assume anything though. The future is always uncertain.
