I picked up a nice domain the otherday from the dropped forum...I sent it off to premium domains a few days back, only to be told that it's a premium domain :D

It's the first one I have had as I dont spend much time on domains as I should...the domain is 'adultshopping*info' and was rated 424 with a frequency of 298,000.

I'm quite impressed.....It looks like the domain has spent its life on a sedo parking page...looks like it's gunnu be there a little while longer now :D

Yeah, I don't get it. If I wanted to know if my domain name was good I would ask the people here at NP.

At least premiumdomains does not charge, most newbies will spend money on domain appraisals. I know I did, and man I feel really stupid about that now.

I would take the advice from NPer's over any domain name appraisal anyday.

Imho premiumdomains is a joke and means next to nothing. The first time I saw the link I went to the site and had a good chuckle.

It has confirmed my own personal appraisal though....that the domain's worth a nice little bit.

Why do you believe premiumdomains ?

Just because of the name is "PremiumDomains" ?

Its the fact that the name is called a premium domain. Just saying that gets me all worked up. I mean is there anything better?. Its not a good, or a best or even a top domain. Its a premium domain.

Personally I would not and never have bought an appraisal. Btw, any name can be called a premium domain.

First:
Thank you very much for that thread, as you confirm me that my
"Dropped & UNREGGED in the wild" list are a success ;)

Second:
Automated evaluation is far away of any real result.
Don't get to exited if some soft tags you as premium or appraises your domain at high values.

Agreed.

Also, consider the following - when you use a formula to determine a domains value, are all factors considered? Not even close. Does premiumdomain.com give a valueable service? To some extent. But I sold a domain that recieved a score of mid 100's for $3,000 last month. And Ive been holding onto "premium" domains for a year without any offers.

Just understand how they score your domain name, this will give you an understanding of what domains "fit" into their model. Also, consider how they value TLD's at PremiumDomain.com

BTW - PremiumDomain uses DomainScore.com (their site) to determine values. I believe if you score over 300 or so, its considered premium. If you check the scores for the dot com against the dot info, here is the breakdown

DotCom = 605
DotInfo = 424

The truth of the matter is, especially in this case, your not going to see a sale that represents 2/3 of the dot come sale price. Sorry, but dot Info's are not worth 2/3 of their dot com counterpart. (there may be an exception, but I think this is a reasonable assumption)

I believe it would take, in addition to a ton of input from many true domain name experts; access to Google's algorithms to develop anything close to a genuine automated domain name appraisal system. While much of their algorithmic creation would be unnecessary (such as backlinks etc.), I’m certain that there could be a great deal to learn.

Best wishes,

here's an idea. selling your "premium" (or as some people like to call them, "premieum") domain back to premiumdomains.com. be sure to quote the high score that they gave it :lol:

I'm happy for you. But I feel bad for Casper Enterprises Group Ltd, do you know why? Because they paid millions for Poker.com and it’s only worth $186,924.00 according to Leapfish.com that is. :notme:

Best wishes,
Kimmy

The only accurate appraisal is one with a cash offer that comes along with it.

I do not trust Premiumdomains.
The only use i find is that you can list your domains at crapdomains.com
