This goes to show why I won't be quoting prices anymore in my initial email to endusers....
Had this one domain with literally 2 days left before it went into redemption period. I was going to let it drop. I said eh, wtf and spent a half hour gathering some enduser emails.
I would've been happy to get $25 - $50 for it as I was going to let it drop anyway, but I knew it was a decent name.
Immediately after sending out the emails, I get a reply "Tom, the best I can do on this one is $350, let me know, thanks"
I was very pleasantly surprised and said to myself, just think...I listed this on forums for $10 with no interest and was about to let it drop...
Now should I had been desperate and quoted $50 in the initial email, I would've lost out on $300.
Feel out your prospect's enthusiasm by not quoting prices.
