i don't really know for sure but my _guess_ would be that they are the fastest and easiest to dial, especially on a small flip phone which are still really popular

if qwerty phones become popular then won't have as much value but i don't think that's going to happen anytime soon

they are indeed finite but N-N is even in shorter supply yet doesn't command the prices that NNN does

is that because they are slighty harder to dial or just don't look as nice or because NNN is more recognized around the world than N-N ?

hyphens have a bad rap, I think from the pronunciation problems.

"Hey Joe I found this cool new site, used car loans dot com to get a great rate on my car. Check it out, go to www dot used dash car dash loan dot com." "OK, let's see, usedcarloan dot com, oh, wait he said dash somewhere, or was it a slash, oh forget it!"

You get the picture. But for SEO and SEM they can be effective but are difficult to brand for repeat business.

But in the case of .mobi with no 2 character regs available, L-L or N-N are somewhat special.

People from asia like numbers and brandable domains like CvCv.com a lot, they have many developed websites.

i have 5 nnn .mobi and i see the value going down.. i had hard time trying to find a buyer for them...

3character shows 610$ down 140$ from 750 last month.. but i cant even find a buyer to take them for 550. sold 2 today for less then 500 each..

I think price will fix for 500 for now and they may go up if .mobi find some support level from development or .mobi platform in future.

3character.com just based that price on the fact that i was selling them at $610 BIN one week and had a big list of em posted... pretty funny actually

anyhow, just sold 5 of em @ $600ea to some chinese guys that contacted me through whois.. they really like the NNN over there and also NNNN if you got the right ones.. i just had 660.mobi close Thursday at $800 through sedo..

:loveyou:

I can see NNN being used alot in the future by companies wanting quick and easy ways for people to find them.

If I am thinking correct ringtone companies already sell tones by having customers type in a text message number which is usually 6 numbers long which are not nearly as pretty and easy to remember as the even NNN Mobis that people have purchased here :)

Obviously there are no guarantees that MOBI will succeed but I think NNN have a great long term future.

As for quick flips I am not sure what to say.

I sold many NNN Mobis only to see some people flip the NNN MOBIs for a profit the same week or month.

In some cases the domains sold for 3 times what I sold them for. Congrats to those sellers.

The times this has happened in my 8 years of domaining are very rare and yet I have seen it happen over and over again with my Mobi sales.

Some will claim that is all do to hype. They have a right to their opinion.

I prefer to think that Dot Mobi is a unique TLD that has a corporate backing with great ideas and plans to make sure that Dot Mobi succeeds.

Thank you MJnels, Scorpio, JeremyP, and all of you who purchased Mobi NNN domains from me.

Cheers and best wishes,

C.T. Kirkpatrick
