Unless 521 is a very special number - this price looks high to me...

945.mobi - $310 - Jan 08 - Sedo
169.mobi - $221 - Jan 08 - Sedo


...but, I may be wrong about the value - NNN's ain't my focus...Perhaps others can clarify it for you better....Try to check it out further, I'd advise

$12k is way too high.

The average price for domains I sold directly through Sedo in 2007 (directly meaning without going to auction) was just over $1,000

To be more precise, over the entire year (excluding auctions) I sold via Sedo 16 unremarkable domains of below-average quality for a total of US $16,220 (which Excel tells me is about $1,014).

On a wholesale basis, you are looking at prices significantly lower than that right now.

The 945.mobi quoted above was mine.

I chose to send it to auction with the minimum allowed offer deliberately, in order to see if the liquidity pocket that seemed to linger after the December auction was deep enough for NNN domains.

The answer was clearly no.

169.mobi did not sell on Sedo as quoted above - I know because I filtered the closing soon auctions for .mobi domains and there was no other NNN at auction on that date.

What did sell for the amount quoted was i69.mobi (obviously not a NNN); an easy mistake to make, I know

P.S.: If you are still unconvinced that you would be overpaying for 521 at $12k, I would be happy to sell you the (IMHO) much better 531 for less than that if you can pay quickly.

Is there a particular reason you need exactly that domain?

If you have a great website design and it would surely make a lot more than 12K if you had that domain - then you probably could get them to negotiate.

For a random NNN.mobi there are many that are much cheaper.

I would also recommend that you scour the ".mobi Marketplace" here on NamePros.

Lots of truly great domains, sometimes you can get them for a real bargain!

i recommend working with mobicheap. he has a nice collection of NNN.mobi's.

also the top right at NP has a quick search box, maybe try searching for some prior NNN sales here to learn more about it.
