I believe their main site here is the .NET ... if they own all (or most) of the other versions, it's most likely to protect their ™ / defensive registrations IMHO.

Perhaps Microsoft is telling you how important they feel .mobi and .tel are?

Call them and then you know why.

As you may know, MS goes alive with MSANS.MOBI, but didn't register .net/.info/.others at all. It is the same for MSVIRTUALIZATION.mobi.

Oh, WindowsClient.mobi was gone now...

I'm a small business and don't bother to register .mobi or .tel. Who needs them when you have iPhone.

strange post by o/p
for .tel why would they need anything but 1? if at all?
its a contact page and a defensive reg if used, on just microsoft

.mobi is a different kettle of fish
i know of three stand alone .mobi sites they are using for new products, services.

Because they know someone will help them secure these extensions.

When they want it, they can easily take it via they preferred way.

Righto, technologically speaking with the super cool iPhones™ I can't see any need or desire for a company (new or established) to register their ".mobi" or .TEL ... other than for ™ protection or defensive purposes, IMHO.

But from a marketing/branding perspective, I can see them wanting to register (and without having to develop) their short and highly brandable .TEL ... which seems a cool & unique way to offer quick & easy access to vital contact information for those who are out and about while "on the go" (including on their enjoyable iPhones™)! :talk: :imho:

Just my two sense.
