I just got the Sedo newsletter and under the heading >

See What Fall Has to Offer - it explains the importance of having a good domain name, at the bottom it says

> "Choose a premium domain name that won't drain your budget and will get you the results you want. Get a great deal on your domain name with these great domains!"

The Link goes to 1825 domain names owned by BuyDomains !

http://www.sedo.com/search/searchresult.php4?language=us&partnerid=27508&showuser=BuyDomains07

This is the second time I have seen Sedo do this, what's the score ? Is Sedo part of BuyDomains or is it just a "networking type thing" ?

I just find it a little unusual that Sedo sends all it's own customers a list of Buydomains domains when they have so many of their own customers ones for sale and buydomains has its own selling platforms.

Did I get it wrong ? ......what am I missing ?
(I did'nt check all of the domains but I checked quiet a few)

Any ideas ?

(ps - I'm not moaning about it, just trying to understand it ! :) )

Hmm - Lets see .... Buydomains has Tons of names - And Sedo works on a commission ;) Why wouldnt they list them ?

In the past , I noticed all domains (That I checked) on Buydomains site were listed on Sedo as well ... More exposure = More sales no matter if you have your own venues or not to sell on.

Not many non-domainers know about BuyDomains.com, so it's a win-win situation for both Sedo (commission) and BuyDomains.com (more sales).

Unfortunately, buyers have to deal with even more overpriced domains. :)

I'm not suprised Buydomains lists its names on Sedo, I knew they did - I am surprised that Sedo does'nt take the opportunity to promote our domains to its large customer base in a similar fashion.

Perhaps Buydomains is paying Sedo more than a 10% commision on sales ??

Who Knows ? ...just wondered

Yeah, most of them are, but that makes perfect sense, BuyDomains advertises their names everywhere... on places like Forbes.com etc

Actually bud, Im willing to bet their paying even less. Considering their portfolio is close to a million domain names, the advantage is huge to Sedo. And also consider that BuyDomains quality of domains is not "that" bad. I think its a perfect match for eachother, and as pointed out earlier. The more exposure, the more likely your going to sell the domain name.
