As a newer member, can you please explain this?

Basically every now and then (not often) nps run a bit of advertising for a few days to keep this site free for us to use

No big deal :kickass:

You guys are really something else. As we have an advertiser, we should come to the conclusion that we embrace the opportunity for NP to offset the costs of operation and remain free of charge to all of us. Actually, when you think about it, you're getting PAID to post, considering that many of us are making NP$ per post which are worth cash, domains or other services.
How about some of the critics here just post a thank you note for the work that and continuous presence that RJ & Management are putting in to keep NP as ethical, reliable, safe and secure as it is?!
You're all very swift when it's about buying and selling domains for your own profit, just consider who's partially responsible for your success.

We all do appreciate the fact that NamePros has to have sponsors to offset the advertising cost. We really do.
I personally have gotten used to this them so I'm okay with it as long as it's not permanent. Many of us have donated to keep the forum healthy, so :imho: the remark about NPers being happy enough to resell domains for their own profit and not caring about the form was a tad harsh.

Just curious, how do we get NP $ for posting?

I appreciate and support the site's ability to attract sponsorships, but think the management should have expected complaints when such a major, unannounced change occurs. Many of us use the site to conduct business, and sudden, unanticipated changes to the marketplace pose a chilling effect on the professional viability of the site. To me, this is the first time that the management of this site has been in any way discourteous to its users. It's a mild disappointment.

Further, I hope the sponsorship does not reflect any financial necessity. Namepros is a particularly useful forum.

The buttons for Post Reply, Quote and so on should also have been changed to match the new design.

Ok, I understand and respect the need for advertising dollars, and its a free site blah blah blah. I honestly tried to read as much as I normally would, and I seriously feel like my eyeballs are going to fall out. I was even seriously considering using other forums until its gone, until I was informed about the .mobi part and the option in FF to remove colors.

A real disappointment for such a normally classy site. I would have expected a higher standard than this. Better luck next time, but until then, black and white works fine  ... I seriously hope the next one is better.

Oh, and when I first saw it, I seriously thought the site was hacked at first... thats bad for a site's rep imho.

Yikes .. I would be glad to have only 110 kg though. I am also 2.00 metres tall. Looks like we form an interesting couple Reece. Imagine that we together have more than 200kg :))

You guys are all over the top... its good advertising because everyone notices.

And its the people at namepros which make it what it is not the blue background... no need to get all stupid over a skin change and say your going to leave.

I dont know about the rest of you, but I've had a craving for Pizza and Burritos since logging in, and I dont eat either of these.
I'm having pizza later on. :D

I myself am rather surprised with the theme change. I prefer the gray one, but
certain things change.

I also hope, though, that this theme's temporary. But I ain't leaving.

Mike, While I certainly agree with your point that namepros at one or other point had helped us to make profit, it doesn't mean that we shouldn't express our disappointment over the theme.

I guess most of them here like me should be aware that a free forum is supported by ads and sponsorship. I dont care about the ad of Rick Laton, but its only with the theme which makes difficult in reading.

With the money spent to sponsor NP - Rick Latona must have a seriously large bank account. That said - would it be possible for him to splash out on a pair of anti-glare sunglasses for all members here.

I think my left eyeball has already been affected and is operating only in black and white. When my right one goes - I'll be really buggered.

Great advertising Rick!

P.S. I already was on his list, and even sold a domain through RickLatona.com
