If it is really sold and not some marketing ploy I bet he gets some serious dough for it.

I was just reading the fine print and noticed that he is selling the domain and it cannot be used in the adult industry. It will be in the contract i guess.
What about all those inbound links? I guess their pretty much worthless to the buyer.

I'm really glad to hear it. How many hundreds of thousands of kids have been exposed to porn because of this site? My tax dollars would be well spent if the US gov't invested a million to buy it.

Anyway, should easily be worth close to seven figures. Is there a buyer outside the adult industry willing to pay that though? We'll see.

He's at least kicking up some nice publicity which should bring in a few high bids.

I'd estimate a couple million if he drops the silly 'adult industry' condition; Under a million if he persists, which will be challenged anyway.

Should be no problem to create a contract for sale with the stipulations. After it reverts to non-adult, any grandfathering of the content to get around the new laws should no longer apply I would think.

I echo what painperdu said - a couple of million at least.

I am sure EVERYBODY at some point before they knew what was on there typed in www.whitehouse.com - many kids do too.

I remember when I got the net myself I only really knew about .com's so when I wanted the Whitehouse site I automatically typed in whitehouse.com - I'd never heard of .gov back then!
