I think in the long term .us will be be better than .info as will all country codes. The problem with gtlds like .info .biz etc...is that there is no limit to the amount of other extensions that can be created by ICANN. Pretty soon when there are 20 or 30 other new extensions, there will be no reason to go for .info over the other new extensions, or at least not enough of a reason to justify paying a high premium for a .info. But for the country codes...there is only ONE official country code per country. So country code domains will always be limited in supply to a fixed number, thus raising their value. As the number of gTLDs increase, the demand for the premium names in those extensions will go down(why pay XXXXXX for shopping.info when you can buy shopping.whatever for xxx.) Right now .info is more valuable, but not in the long term. In the future .com .net .org and .countrycode will be the way to go.
