Let's say that you have a keyword in both .us and .info.

For the sake of argument, let's say that the keyword is high performing, such as "mortgage."

IYO, which is the best TLD? And why?

I would way rather have mortgage.info than mortgage.us - Makes more sense to me.

However, I'd rather have help.us than help.info. I think it all depends on the word.

Thanks!

That helps.

Will rep if I can.

it depends on keyword. .info is good for information site. .us is good for 'us' site.

In the vast majority of cases the .info domains is likely to sell for more.

a vote for .info from me also :)

the .info is more universally known and accepted. It also has the advantage of adding possible context to the site "info/information" A great Keyword would do well with either extension but I think the .info would be easier to brand. Good luck.

.US is only for USA, I hate this extension saying honestly.
.INFO is for all the world, surely it's better, these two extenions are not comparable.

.info is the best extension after .com/.net/.org, far superior to .us.

.info is way better than a .us, .info anyone can reg, .us has a very limited market that can own one

yea i love info
only like good .us hacks
also u will have trouble selling a .us to any one that does not live in the us
you have to live in the us to legally own a .us domain :(

I like .us, but I don't own any.
I also like .info, and I have around 20 or so, but I'm going to let many of them drop.

I agree with a lot of people in that it depends on the word being used.

if you showed me a .info name i'd assume you were going to put a crap spammy adsense type site up.

.info's been labeled with spammers so .us every time for me.

And to make it simple for those who dont know, YOU DONT have to live in the us to won .us :)

many speculators who own .us names are from other countries, trust me on that.

and many companies from other countries own .us names also.

Resell market

Depending on the name as stated but one thing to consider is that reselling .info is easier/bigger-market since .us should only be purchased by USA folks.

I think in the long term .us will be be better than .info as will all country codes. The problem with gtlds like .info .biz etc...is that there is no limit to the amount of other extensions that can be created by ICANN. Pretty soon when there are 20 or 30 other new extensions, there will be no reason to go for .info over the other new extensions, or at least not enough of a reason to justify paying a high premium for a .info. But for the country codes...there is only ONE official country code per country. So country code domains will always be limited in supply to a fixed number, thus raising their value. As the number of gTLDs increase, the demand for the premium names in those extensions will go down(why pay XXXXXX for shopping.info when you can buy shopping.whatever for xxx.) Right now .info is more valuable, but not in the long term. In the future .com .net .org and .countrycode will be the way to go.
