Where is the line between selling and spamming when it comes to PMs?

Hello staff ,

I have been receiving occasionally unsolicited PMs in the past months regarding domains or offers which I did not ask to receive by some users.

I`d like to know if this is normal selling strategy (and in that case I may as well use it too I guess) or it would be considerared as spam.

I have not reported any member for those unsolicited PMs and I`m not going to because I did not mind......it`s quite an agressive industry so I understand some people try harder, but would like to know if it is considered as spam.

Thank you

Best regards

i definately think that it is considered as spam until u have asked for those PM's urself

i myself have recieved several offers, but i simply send them a polite PM stating that i am not interested

If the pm is not in direct response to a thread you have created or a pm you have sent them then it can be considered spam.

The obvious time when it may not be considered spam otherwise is for example if the pm is aimed directly at yourself (say if someone has a name that is very similar to a name you own and they are offering it for example).

If a user sends you a PM, offering a Service or Product, you did not enquire about, it's spam.

Simple, just report them. ;)

(Though, be aware of any "Wanted" Threads you may have opened in the past. The users may have just seen the thread.
In which case, you should always update Wanted Threads if you have found a name, or are no-longer interested.)

Though, most of the time, the PM will be nothing like your Wanted Threads, so obviously, that would be spam. :)
