This is just an idea I'm throwing up but I think it might be worth it to allow Reputation for PMs simply because I made yet another post in the wanted forums making it clear that I did not want names over X amount of dollars, yet, inevitably someone always PMs you with an amount many times what you're looking for. I think it'd be nice if you were able to leave a negative rep. for someone who sends such assinine PMs. What makes it even sadder is that it comes from someone who's been around this forum a while.

I can even see going over a little. Like say I put a $200 budget and someone offers a site for $250-$300 but in this case we're talking 3-5x or what amounts to hundreds of dollars over a budget. It's just annoying to have to sift through these PMs.

I know this is a problem not just limited to me. I'm just throwing this up. The cons may outweigh the pros. I'm not sure.

I agree, and would be able to make use out of a reputation icon (both current status and the button to change) in the PM view. I've been in the situation SwampFox has been in and can relate to how annoying it is.

Steve :)

What does everyone else think about this?

Just to illustrate, it got a lot worse. I even had one PM offering me a blog domain when I clearly said forum. To make it even worse, it was a general blog name not even related to the topic, either.

Well, if they can't read the entire post and it's requirements...
Then maybe post their user name and say something like...
- PM received - please check thread requirements - No domains over $xx - $xxx or whatever the requested max is. -
and in time, the names of the habitual offenders (lol) will be
in the thread...and if it appears consistently in other threads,
then something needs to be done. :imho:
and if they don't like the fact that your going to post their name -
then they shouldn't do it!!!!

Wouldnt mind leaving neg rep for those PM spammers once in a while.

There is a warning for PM spamming, so if you experience this, let one of the Staff™ or Forum Leaders™ know of it and we'll take appropriate action :tu: .

As for the reputation, I like the idea; let's see the response of others on this as well :) .

Thanks for your ideas B-) !

Nice idea expanding the rep system, especially since I've gotten spam through pm before also, which is VERY annoying.

True_Snake, I considered sending the PMs along to you guys but decided against it because that's a lot of extra work for you guys for something that's not exactly vital. That's what made me come up with PM reputation idea. That way there would be something as a consequence of sending the PMs without placing and extra workload on the staff. It's a minor thing but if it's repeat offenders then it will show eventually.
