Hey fellas,

Just a head's up when selling you're .tv domain at Sedo.

If in a fortunate event you receive an offer at Sedo for one of your .tv's, and you decide to sell it or start an auction,

Don't forget to check that your domain is parked with Sedo's name servers;
if you want to avoid paying the min of $50 or the equivalent in Euros, Pounds.....

Because when you're domain is parked at Sedo, they only take a 10% commision of the sales price.

I'm basically posting this cause I sold a .tv for $60 and was expecting to get $54, but suprisingly only received $10 in my account. :( And this is due to that because the .tv I sold wasn't parked with their name servers. The ironic part is that I recently changed the name servers a week ago to another parking company :tri: just to test the waters, but forgot to change them back.

So being quite content with a $20 profit that I thought I made, I actually lost $25. Not life threatening obviously!!

Just had to get this out! Phew, that felt good! ;)

Not only should the domain be parked at Sedo, it must be there for 30 days prior to the auction.

Which domains? How long were they parked?

until i read this thread, i didnt even know this... so thanks in heads up, i guess i will park a couple names over there from now on and i wouldnt want to pay a high fee on a low sale.

one name now in sedo just became parked over at sedo and its auction now(i wont reveal name) since sedo is on the boards here but i will ask that seller when auction ends and see what he says on this... i know a few others that have done this, maybe others can comment on this?

who knows....

If you have a more valuable domain, another thing to consider is forwarding the domain to the actual auction url -- might get you some extra potential visitors from type-in traffic or even if there's no type-in traffic (like many undeveloped .tvs), you'll still have the Sedo page indexed in Google which might end up getting you some additional bids.

Nice tactic, thanks for sharing Reece!
