How does anyone keep track of the values of LLLL.nets these days?

I have seen them sell for $15 to $200+. I realize CVCV VCVC etc can make a differenace plus the letters in the domain however it looks like from what I have researched that no one really knows what these things are worth right now.

People are dumping LLLL.nets for $10-$15 but many are listed up to $700 on Afternic (I relaize ND owns most of them tho & they infalte alot of domai prices on their sites).

Any ideas what LLLL.nest are actually worth???

Half of the investors are buying them for whatever price they can because they know that they will be worth a lot more $$$ 1-3 years from now. (Causes high prices.)

Another 40% are trying their best to get a half-way decent deal. But the problem is that they don't know what a deal is because sales are all over the place. This causes the prices to go wazzoo. (The middle prices.)

The last 10% are the successful bargain hunters getting names for $10 because the seller regged them got them for $6. :) (The lower prices.)

IMHO

Wait until all those who invested for a quick flip run out of them (10-12 buck sales) and prices will gravitate to $50 for all premium. I am holding :)

You can't compare a listing price on Afternic to the price someone is asking on the forum when looking to unload in bulk. Many people will list LLLL.net for $500+ on aftermarket sites which is a reasonable amount to hope for an enduser to pay. Doesn't mean they all sell at that but a few sales can go a long way.

To get an idea of prices you should be looking at completed sales prices, not listing prices. I would say quad premium (not pronounceable) are currently going anywhere between $10-$20 now. CVCV or other very good pronounceable names can be as high as low xxx depending on the pronouncability and the letters.

Of course there are many exceptions and each name is unique.

To some extent, I think some of them "dumping" associated with quad LLLL.nets going on lately is directly related to the sharp decline in value lower grade LLLL.coms have seen. I was planning on offloading 50 or so LLLL.coms this month, but with prices the way they are now I'll get my funding through the sale of quad LLLL.nets which suffered a fraction of the blow lower grade LLLL.coms took.

as always, prices may be mostly a function of ->

( People who want to buy + Cash available ) /
( People who want to sell + People who NEED to sell )

I suspect that for LLLL.net holders, there's a bit less of the "NEED to sell" part of the equation. Just guessing, but seemed that more people regging LLLL.net in the quad-premium buyout recognized that this was a bit more speculative / long-term play - so less likely to be overextended.

That being said, about half my LLLL.net regs were picked up with intention to flip for moderate profit (basically to clear enough to pay for the rest). That's worked out nicely so far.
