Everytime I try to place a .TV in the high priced section in the marketplace it never gets approved... What is up with that? I think by now I know what constitutes a high quality high priced domain. I mean, I am the ultimate discounted reseller, I barely appraise or value names in the $XXXX range. I am not some frivolous seller overpricing my names just to get them in another marketplace for crying out loud. I just want to get my great names in front of folks looking to spend good money. I have tried 4 times to get differetn .tv names pushed into that marketplace but have not been approved once? Real great, they allow abunch of crap two word random cctlds like .cn .ws .on .hn .cd .es .co.in in there, but not one word .TV names I have had $XXXX offers on LOL! What is going on over there?

i have seen some weird names go thru there- that is an area where someone is determining what they think is high priced and should be there- i dont think its a good area to have- it is impossible to say one or two people feel it ranks as a high dollar domain, and promote it as such.
its just not a good idea

Well not to be a downer, but when was the last time a tv domain sold anywhere on namepros for more then a grand.

I have actually had 2 approved and put in there, along with some other tv names I have seen in there. They NEVER get a response in there. none. Zip. No offense to anyone but why approve names that are not getting any bites.

From a marketing standpoint, they want to have high profile names in there that get results. Granted not much does in there, but there is a MUCH better chance that a non tv name will get results.

As much as we all love .tv, the reality is there is just not that much of a market for domainers right now. The only names that are selling around here for tv are well below $100, with almost no exceptions.

The rest are going to end users. Like I said, no offense, but domainers are not jumping on this extension right now.

Whats up mr gloom and doom!

LOL if you browse the names in that section there are many many other cctlds of little worth getting NO bites.

Bulldog are you on the wagon? You used to be so much more fun when you were constantly drinking... LOL! :hehe:

I disagree, I think more and more domainers are buying names but it is in an anonymous fashion. IMO buyers don't want to be known as buyers. This .TV marketplace is pretty small and tight knit and when one sale happens everyone knows it. Being an anonymous buyer can help so no one will jack up the prices on you knowing that you would willingly pay alot more. I feel like alot of folks are actually buying in private as to not alert the whole market much like localexperts open Geo buying spree ignited the .TV Geo market.

Thus I would like to sell my high profile names in another market.

The only people paying X,XXX for .tv names are end-users and .tv investors, neither of which are going to buy a .tv from the high-priced marketplace area of namepros.

Sorry Marlowe

hahahahaha. No, well ok yes.

Just a bit sad today because we were supposed to get 5 inches of snow and ended up with nothing. Bulldog likes snow.

And marlow, just my opinion, but no one around here, except maybe the lookie-loo lurkers out there, are spending much money on tv domains.

It's an end user market right now, the speculators already have what they want.

Dev is the name of the game at this point IMHO.

Gosh you guys are not too positive!

Its ok, and certainly everyone is entitled to their opinions. I just think it takes a while to make a good sale. Its not like you just post and somoene swoops in to buy unless you are selling at very cheap prices. My first domain sale of 2008 was for $XXXX to somone who has previously sold a domain for over $9 million. It took 6 months of trying to make that sale. You can't expect that the .TV marketplace is the only place to make .TV sales. I just feel like the buyers are trying not to let on how interested they truely are, and there are other folks besides endusers paying $XXXX its just not reported or broadcast openly.

for some odd reason, i found that arousing- :p

i tend to agree- altho i do beleive there are sales goin on- you do not see most domainers into tthe tv thing. you never see them in the wanted areas. but, i beleive that alos has to do with "domainer rush". LLLL.coms sell out, and everybody wants them, so that is the craze, and the rush to buy and sell them. this happends all the time- look at the sudden domainer "interest" in the "i" words because of ireport-

with tv, to be honest, i am holding out for more except for some choice names i throw on the marketplace here. i dont WANT to sell pal.tv for 300.00. i am prepared to work it and find my buyer for the prices i want for my main names.

timing is everything. a domain that sold for 400.00 yesterday could have had its enduser looking for is 2 months later, with xxxx in his pocket.

i dont know that i want every domainer in .tv. let them keep fishing for premium letter LLLL.coms. and i do not in any way believe that this is an indicator of .tv. this isnt a domainers extension, its an enduser extension.

and entering into 2008- the future is bright for internet tv and video. once they further establish that, you will see .tv take a stronger hold. the WHOLE internet is taking a step. it has been the same, and we all got used to it. now, in blasts video, tv- stuff that was more used OFF the web. this is a major metamorphisis going on. think about it- a phase of the web is opening up right before our eyes that will change everything. these things take time :) even for domainers to realize they missed the boat, and that there are scraps left outside of the aftermarket.

you have to remember too- look at the names of tv sites being opened. there is still alot of names out there, that in .com would be gone. joe video guy can get MyCrazyVideos.tv, and be happy with that.

the flour needs to be sifted some more.
