High Priced Domains Section

It is apparent that Namepros needs the High Priced Domain name section back in one form or another.

For those that do not remember, Namepros used to have a forum called High Priced Domains where users can submit a domain that is worth $1000 and up for sale. Those domains were then reviewed by a staff member. If the staff member valued it at $1000+, it would be added to the High Priced section.

The Namepros team and myself are dedicated to bringing back some form of a high priced domain forum. We have a few options on the table and I would like the community to tell me which option they are most comfortable with. Also, please include any reasons why you choose this option and any other details/suggestions would be helpful.

The four options are:

  1. High Priced Domains Section

We bring back the High Priced Domains section in its traditional form. Domain has to be valued at $1000 and up. Instead of being reviewed by 1 staff members, it would be reviewed by 3. If 2 out of 3 staff members agree on its $1000+ value, it would be added to the forum.

  2. Multiple Fixed Priced Sections

The multiple fixed priced sections would give users two sections to sell domain names based on user asking price.

    Example:

Section 1: Fixed Priced Domains Below $100

Section 2: Fixed Priced Domains $100 and Above

The advantage to this forum is that staff does not need to approve any domain names added. You determine the price tag and add to the section that it belongs in.

Also, the $100 is not set in stone. It is an example, it can be < $500 and > $500, or a number that we feel is right.

  3. High Priced Domains Section & Two Fixed Price Sections

Our third option is both of the above. High Priced Section would be by approval only and have only the best gems.

Users can also use the Fixed Price Above $500 to list the same domains there if they choose to which would not need to be approved.

  4. Other

Any other suggestions / ideas, you are welcome to post.

These are the four options we have brainstormed. We would love to see what the users of the community think.

Our goal is to focus on higher quality domain names and bigger sales, and attracting a lot of domainers that may be less active on NP since there are not a lot of quality domains listed for sale on our forum or are hard to find in the current Fixed Price section. Your advice is welcome. :)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Just idea #1 would be enough in my opinion, but not against the 2nd idea also.

I'll volunteer to be on the judging panel for high priced :)

#1 only - I think there needs to be a max turnaround time though. I don't want to be listing a domain and waiting more than 24 hours for it to be approved.
