Hello fellow domainers,

I'm interested in acquiring dropped domains with existing traffic, but I'm finding it difficult to accurately assess the traffic levels of these domains. While tools like SEMrush or SimilarWeb exist, their data seems unreliable for dropped domains. I've also looked at backlinks, but many domains with over a million backlinks have little to no traffic.

I'm curious to know what the best methods are for estimating traffic for dropped domains. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Experience.

I know that doesn't tell you much but, after 10+ years searching for domains with traffic, I can say that the best tool you have is your gut after gaining enough experience to trust it.

Note that you still need other tools but your gut should have the final say.
