I'm catching the tail end of this, seems to be some kind of controversy...

https://domaingang.com/domain-news/rob-monster-off-twitter-after-christchurch-massacre-controversy/

Must be something odd to evoke this type of a response from one of our members.

my contribution is to get to the point
...
so we can see through the dust

The dust of religion / politics IS, in fact, the point.

That is to say, there are abstract principles like censorship and registrar responsibilities at the heart of this. But those have become obscured by the dust of particular views on religion / politics โ€“ either Rob's or those of some horrible racists on Gab.

And this confusion between abstract principles and concrete worldviews is precisely "What's going on with Epik and Rob Monster".

The dust IS the point.

Perhaps you can enlighten us about what we're allowed to say?

A)
I have 425 domains with epik.com

what is going to happen,
when epik faces severe issues due to the posts the 80% owner made?

if epik goes the alpnames way - are the domains save?
what is going to happen?

B)
why does Ron apologize
only to those who felt offended?

If all of these factors โ€“ religion, politics, censorship, a registrar's role into policing content โ€“ are "unrelated nonsense", as you seem to think, Frank, then permit me to ask what topics you, in your infinite wisdom, will allow us to discuss here in this NamePros thread? Rob and I, who the 2 people with the closest connection to the topic at hand, are continually being told by you to keep our mouths shut. Perhaps you can enlighten us about what we're allowed to say?

a)
religion has nothing to do with a registrars business

b)
politics have nothing to do with a registrars business

c)
censorship has nothing to do with a registrars business

registering domains
making it easy to manage them
making it easy to sell them

thats the business of a registrar

dust is none of it

A)
I didn't tell you to shut up

I asked you
what is the intended of your long and winded post

B)
I didn't ask Rob to shut up

I asked him
if it's really needed to talk about his believe
and why he can't stop talking about religion

@frank-germany,

Before writing 4 consecutive posts about my posts, try reading my posts. And if you don't understand them, ask someone to explain them to you privately.

@frank-germany IMO, not only your attitude was rude towards @Slanted, you are also wasting our time. I am following this thread to read about Epik and Rob. Not your unnnecassary, consecutive, not funny and unrelated posts. You made your point. You said you disliked long posts. Nobody said anything. Why keep repeating that? I enjoy reading @Slanted's point of view and his detailed posts. This thread is about these people. Not you or what you dislike.

I think what's going on to cut right to the heart of the matter is....

Rob Monster is very stubborn. He doesn't want to back down. He won't apologize unconditionally.
To those who were offended by my actions, I apologize to you.
He thinks he is right. He believes in some of these conspiracy theories
(for example even after all this, he still says things to the effect of "I don't know what happened in NZ" as if to double down on his prior statement of that it was all a hoax),
As for making a statement about what exactly happened in NZ on March 14, I wasn't there so I don't know.
and he is a Bible thumper and True Believer in some of this right wing white nationalism,
So, yes, I am caucasian, and I am not a fan of unmitigated immigration. By some standards that makes me a "white nationalist".
and probably supports some of the philosophy at Gab,
Despite his diverse circle of friends, Monster appears at ease with the anti-Semitic slurs and racist fearmongering that are rampant on the site. Earlier this month, he approvingly shared a video by Faith Goldy, a Canadian white nationalist, that characterized migrants as the bearers of โ€œrape epidemics, sharia law, and the spectacle of terror.โ€

That same month, when one Gab user accused Monster of talking like a โ€œRAT KIKE,โ€ he responded that he is โ€œnot a โ€˜kikeโ€™ nor governed by one. :)โ€ When another person on Gab said he was pleased to know the site was hosted by a guy who wouldnโ€™t โ€œkowtow to globalistsโ€ โ€” a term commonly used as an anti-Semitic dog whistle โ€” Monster responded, โ€œIndeed.โ€ Monster assured another Gab user who was worried about Epik having two Jewish board members that โ€œhaving a Jewish person on Epikโ€™s board may be somewhat helping with keeping certain forces at bay.โ€

Tal Moore, one of the Jewish board members, stepped down from the board earlier this month because of Epikโ€™s involvement with Gab, he told HuffPost. The other, Braden Pollock โ€• who is married to the famous civil rights lawyer Lisa Bloom โ€” did not respond to a request for comment.

โ€œDid it ever cross anyoneโ€™s mind that the story about the missionary disappearing after going on a mission work is Psyop?โ€ he posted last month, linking to a CNN story about an American missionary who traveled to North Sentinel Island in the Bay of Bengal in an effort to convert its residents to Christianity. โ€œWhat better way to dissuade Christians from fulfilling the Great Commission than to convince that the Lord is not actually with them.โ€

Earlier this month, Monster theorized that a new swastika-ridden Gab account was really a โ€œfake Liberal accountโ€ created by a faculty member in the psychology department at the State University of New York at Geneseo. He claimed that the phone number listed on the accountโ€™s registration form matched the phone number on an outdated-looking website for the faculty member.

And Monster described Cantwell as โ€œrationalโ€ and someone โ€œwho I actually quite like, in spite of the F-bomb theatrics.โ€

.

At the same time...I am certain that someone has been advising him to shut up. That what he is doing/saying is not helping Epik's business. Which is why he is posting sparingly.

So is he is torn between two ends. To spout, or not to spout.

I don't believe this discussion will get any further. It's beating a dead horse.

I believe Joseph is right about the context here. As for Frank, whose opinions I welcome, I believe he suffers from normalcy bias. It is common so I don't fault him because it is the case with much of the world. That said, at this point, I do believe Frank is spamming this thread for reasons that I could speculate about.

Speaking of normal, it is not normal that the #5 most popular movie in the box office this week, Unplanned, had their Twitter handle suspended multiple times and followers removed during the opening weekend of a movie that speaks honestly about the single largest cause of death: abortion. Twitter is a known censor.

The statistical reality is that the #1 cause of death is not heart disease or cancer. It is the willful extermination of children, unborn and now post-natal. It is the same topic that I have also posted about on my personal Twitter during February as you can see from the screen shot here:

I strongly believe that one of the main way that people place themselves under Biblical curses is through willful sin, of which murder of a child would be very high on the list.

I do look at the world through an eternal lens, it does cause me to consider my fiduciary duty to all of humanity and not just to shareholders and existing customers. I believe that protecting lawful expression on the Internet is part of that fiduciary duty. It is a shame that more registrars have not done the same.

For those not aware, I have long practiced what I called "enlightened capitalism". In fact, it was the handle of my LinkedIn profile going back to before the start of Epik in 2009. The thesis there is that it should be possible to do well by doing good, and to do good while doing well.

As for when to post or not not post on social media, including NamePros, I sometimes use the expression "wise as serpents. harmless as doves". It is from the Bible. I won't explain it here, but it underscores a philosophical point about picking and sequencing battles.

I think it is pretty clear from a number of conversations, both online and offline, that the voice of the Christian conservative is to be silenced. The rooting out of such narratives is a global phenomena and is systematic. A rational person might ask themselves why. Those with eyes to see, already know the answer.

My advice to all is to keep searching for truth and to do it with urgency as your window for doing so is being closed which is why projects like WatchMask.com allow you to watch YouTube videos without tracking and then download them.

As for those Netizens, on Namepros and elsewhere, who are willfully complicit in the ongoing exercise to censor lawful content, they are foolish (see Psalm 14 for context). They don't realize it yet, but it is an absolute certainty and the error of their complicity will eventually be revealed. Forgive them. I have.
