I am just a humble newbie and don’t know much about the business and was well and truly sucked in by the estibot thing and hand regged a load of names that with hindsight I probably should not have, as I have not exactly found them easy to sell even though some of them have pretty good exact search results and adsense cpc’s, looking back in hindsight having learnt the little I have I think estibot maybe puts a bit too much weight on searches x cpc, some of the names it gives a fairly good appraisal seem to be heavily influenced by this factor as the names themselves are sometimes pretty naff, looking at actual sales on namebio I have noticed that there are names that have gone for xxxx’s that don’t have searches x cpc that are that good, but have reached a good price because they are pretty nice names. My conclusion is that while this factor may certainly be relevant unless you are talking about fairly significant figures along with a really good extension I probably would not put too much weight on it if it’s not a particularly nice name. I am still trying to get my head around appraising, I think it’s something that can take a little bit of time to learn, but while I still consult estibot out of interest as I wouldn’t say it has no value what so ever, I am now a lot more sceptical of the results it returns, it does have a tendency to really over value names that are not that good, especially .de and .co.uk, some of those results are really ridiculous. Anyway perhaps I am wrong I am still fairly wet behind the ears, feel free to correct me if you think I am wrong.
