What kind of names are best for the .Mobi Extension?
Before the release of .Mobi I remember reading it was going to be for mobile transfers. Like the main extension for transferring files and data to mobile devices but that seems to have changed.
So what is the most fitting name for .mobi or is there one? I would like to register one for the "Best reg of the day thread but not sure to register some one word dictionary names or 2-3 word consumer product type names.

When I was actively regging .mobi's, I looked at many things. I first had the train of thought of the shorter, the better. That's because I really suck at entering anything on a keypad other than numbers. Shows you how old I am....Then, I started thinking about bookmarks, directories, search engines and other ways that mobile users can and will get around that. Two specific examples of proof I might be on to something would be fbimostwanted (mobi)..a developed site which had almost 3700 unique visitors last month. About 2900 came from SE referrals. Then, one of my consistently best parked .mobis (based on clicks and income) is "freecrosswordpuzzles"(mobi). This kind of helps my theory of length doesn't seem to matter much. Neither of these names are "short", yet they're producing in various ways on the .mobi platform.
Then, I got into traditional domaining methods of determining potential value (like overture, wordtracker and the likes). Problem is, there is no track record of mobile searches yet. Just because someone searches for "fried green tomatoes" on their PC doesn't mean they will have the same want or need to on their mobile. Who knows? Maybe they will....maybe they won't. The jury's out here.
So I started looking at names in a different light. I took the route of regging names I could justify as a developed site. I started putting together a developing plan for every fresh reg I made. Some turned into sites. Some are parked, waiting their turn. Eventually, most will be developed to some degree.
What's sometimes overlooked is this is not a traditional tld. It's not something you'll get rich parking with. My advice would be to look for a name you or an end-user could find tempting to develop a mobile application of some sort with. It could be simple or it could be complex. It might be an idea that won't work today, but could in the future. Use your imagination and you'll find something!
Best of luck! Get to work and find that buried treasure to post.
