I had a very bad experience after selling some names at Namejet and I had to knock their doors for more than 3 months to get paid. So I thought I would never sell over there again[PERIOD].

I had no complains while buying names at Namejet until now. I bought a domain name on Oct 30th and I am still waiting for it. I sent a few emails and called them but looks like they don't care.

Has the management changed at Namejet?

The call center is in not in house, outsourced, and they just pass on the info, have no knowings of NameJet. I called last week, no word back.

I didn't realize that. I thought the rest of the business was outsourced overseas :xf.smile:

NameJet is based out of Seattle, the phone number used to route there, I don’t think anyone even works in that office anymore, everything has probably been outsourced, and automated.

Right now they have taken a lot of money, and not delivered a good portion of names for the prior month.

I myself have a 4 figure amount owing from them this at this point. Basically the contract is not complete until they deliver the name. To procure funds for something you fail to deliver can be considered fraud if funds are not returned.

The fact they are not taking support seriously does not bode well either.

Used to deal with Laurie before and everything was fast and on time. But now, everything seems to be in slow motion.

I just talked to namejet, supposedly one seller who is not sending their domains over, I also got a hold of that party, and they say the transfer system is broken, so it is a case of he said she said, not sure maybe he isn't happy with some of the prices achieved, maybe their financial picture changed, but namejet said they are getting close to the point where they will be cancelling the auctions, and issuing refunds, and banning the seller.

Does anyone know the email address of NameJet support? Because I keep getting logged out of their support centre every time I try to log in just like @wwwweb has experienced.

I guess things have not gotten better at NameJet recently...

That doesn't sound good. I have paid for a won auction some time ago, but not updates at all. I hadn't used NameJet for a long time before that. I guess I should have stayed away...

Still waiting.

No response from Namejet. Emails don't work, phone calls don't work.

Namejet has been stripped down, and everything has been outsourced to other web depts, such as support etc... on paper these things always run smoothly when management cuts costs etc... but it looks to be not working out so well in reality.

I believe the only known employee Jonathan T, was promoted to head of privacy, or something to their Florida operations, and I guess he moved on. So basically now you have to deal with a call center in Newfoundland, basically on the other side of the continent from where NameJet is based.

They want to run this thing like a cash cow, fully automated, with little overhead as possible, but to many negative experiences. I have been waiting on a purchase to transfer for 3 weeks, mid $xxx, I don’t even bother anymore, just not worth the work, give them a month, before I waste my time calling 3x before they do anything about anything.

It seems their Support Centre is finally back online again. But whether they reply to tickets I don't know.

I have been waiting for a won name for weeks and finally got an update (but not the name yet) from a Tim M. using an @web.com email address, so maybe he is the primary person now?

In any case, I have no intention of buying more names there under the current circumstances. So I guess their plan to cost-safe and make NameJet an automated cash cow will backfire if many of us give up on them...

What a piece of shit this NameJet has become. Now the site is riddled with people selling names they don't own. I have identified two domains of mine being sold on the platform without my knowledge.

Why would you sell a domain you dont own...
to test the platform at someone else expense?

Just when think seen it all.. Thanks for sharing!

NameJet still not worth a shot?

Their so-called "customer service" is still absolutely horrible. Waiting for one domain I won for over a month now, and they simply don't reply to support tickets. Things were bad long before Covid, so it's probably even worse now...

Sounds awful. I've decided to give them a go with auctioning a few names. Time will tell.

You could give it a try, but I fear you will have to wait a very long time to get your payment if your names sell. The name I won was listed by a private seller, and I could see from the whois that seller unlocked the domain just a few days later. So I am pretty sure they must have forwarded the auth. code to NameJet to transfer it to Network Solutions. But that was almost six weeks ago, and I haven't received the name and seller hasn't received their payment.

Just an update. I finally got the name I had won more than six weeks ago. Far too long to wait, but at least I did receive it in the end and support finally reached out to me.
